So Frozen disappears after 32 weeks. What a run.

Fujobucks aren't giving DRRR the business, wonder how it'll affect their plans going forward for the later cours. "B-but BUD-JETS DON'T MATTER! IT'S TIME!" I hear Zac and others say these days. Yeah, and less time is given when you have a less marketable properly, meaning shows look worse and have fewer key frames. Its priority drops.

They really shouldn't have waited five years to get these sequels releases. People's passion burns out, people move on to other properties, there's just less general interest.

I bought Cross Ange vol. 3, Durarara! x2 vol 1, and the 2nd Gintama Blu-ray set. I guess everyone else chose the same things to buy...

Aren't Fujoshi noted for being especially fickle. Like they seem more loyal to specific voice actors and bleeding edge current trends more than anything. It's a bit strange though, usually Aniplex's marketing gets the job done anyway, but I guess even they can't overcome a five year gap and a volatile and not especially loyal core audience.

Hyouka! Still sad that this one hasn't (and probably won't) be licenced. Very jealous that the Japanese now have a BD set of the series.

Very nice, Shirobako's doing ridiculously well. It's pretty rare that a home video release opens better with each subsequent volume (5725->7741->10381).

Also, looks like people are starved for animated Nanoha.

It was an OK show, but not enough to pass shows like Shirobako or Gekkan Shōjo Nozaki-kun, IMO.

5 - Your Lie in April 1 (Limited Complete Pressing) 7,348

6 - The irregular at magic high school Yokohama Disturbance 1 (Limited Complete Pressing) 7,283

7 - Gintama Blu-ray Box Season Part II 6,609

8 - Gekkan Shōjo Nozaki-kun Vol. 6 (Blu-ray) 5,914

9 - Amagi Brilliant Park Vol. 3 Blu-ray Limited Edition 4,969

14 - The Fruit of Grisaia Vol. 3 (Limited First Edition) 2,966

16 - The Seven Deadly Sins 2 (Limited Complete Pressing) 2,551

It is nice to see that those shows manage to move a significant number of copies. I liked all of them quite a bit.

Well, well, well. Look who still draws and audience. Laughing

ANN wrote:
12 - Durarara!!×2 Shō 1 (Limited Complete Pressing) 3,228

I'm enjoying the show quite a bit, and while there are some quality issues, I find the overall plot and pace to make up for it.

19 - Lord Marksman and Vanadis Vol. 3 (Blu-ray) 2,255

Although those shows didn't do real justice to their respective source materials, they still were reasonably OK, with a mediocre-level plot and pace, and they tried to take an interesting art style.

Come on Shirobako, keep it coming - we need a season two. We need a season two. I'm also liking where Your Lie In April has placed.

Durarara!! X2 isn't surprising considering that the animation has been really iffy this season. I can see the series requiring a lot of re-cuts for home video, which will probably cut into the profitability too.

You're right; happened to Rozen Maiden too. It's just difficult to capture lightning in a bottle twice. (At least this is where Hollywood excels - when something turns hot, they don't wait around to add more.)

Frozen not being on the list? I wonder what had this list let it go for that week.

2014 Godzilla (17,658 + 6,397 + 5,250) did OK.
(People give Pacific Rim at Japan a hard time, but its 100k+ BD sales blows Godzilla's off the water.)

It'll be right back after Cinderella comes out, people will see that movie for the Frozen short alone. Shit, they're advertising the movie with that short as a selling point.

I really doubt that the amazing animation/sakuge that Physic school wars had was not related to a huge budget(its worth watching for its animation alone).

Either way, S2 v1 has a huge drop from S1Vs 29k, and it still has 14 volumes to go.

That was because of stock problems, the same happened to YuYuYu and GuP. From v3 onwards it'll be normal, as it seems the stock problems have been solved.

How can budget not matter? They use budget to pay more hired on animators who aren't salaried staff. Longer production time on zero money might be fine if you're Shinkai, but he's not working in weekly TV anime.
