Thanks for the review! It's a little disappointing to hear about the paper effects but I'll probably won't display him with them anyway. I think I'll try to get those Tamashii Nation blue flame effects and display him with them for the fun of it. Since he basically is a plain doll, I'm also considering brushing up on my sewing skills and making him some of the various outfits from the show.

Right now, though, him and the Altair Haru and Makoto are on their way home now and I cannot wait! They also just put out pictures for the painted prototype for the Makoto figma and he looks gorgeous!

I feel this is kinda a waste of Figma and it would have worked alot better as a non-poseable figure.

Every time I start thinking about looking into Figma, I see a review like this that shows that the figures don't look that great, especially in their limbs/joints, and decide to stick with Figuarts.

After looking at Makoto's definition, it seems Haru's (relatively) slender figure is intentional.

I have to politely disagree. I'm going to have all sorts of fun posing this little guy with my other Figmas. Woo hoo!

That said, there are static figures of Haruka that you can get. Something for everyone.

Well there is one http://myfigurecollection.net/item/166705

But instead of a figma I think they should have went with a nendo. At least that had the potential to be cute. This figma is just plain ugly.

I wasn't especially interested in this figure - something about the joints and the chest kind of bothered me - but to each their own.

I did order both of the Altair figures (as a birthday present from me to me) and they are quite lovely. They just came today.

I considered getting this one, but decided not to. I have one figma that I'm very pleased with, but there hasn't been one since that I really wanted to buy.

They'll probably end up doing a Nendoroid eventually seeing as the Altair figures did really well.

This is a perfect example of how Figma's disc joints are a double edged sword. They're very unique and can inwards a good amount without the reliance on one joint but they can look pretty ugly unless they "flow" into one of the figure's other parts. Here we have someone who's practically nude and BAM! They stick out like a sore thumb. I like Free! but if I were to buy a figure I would go with a statue due to how much the detail the characters have.

I own 7 Figma, I like all of them but their disc joints all don't make. The fact that the hands now lack pins annoys me and I regret buying 3 Attack on Titan figures. Only one interests me that's coming out in the future is Lucina from Fire Emblem.
