So I was browsing the forums when I see my username and Subscriber underneath it. I was just on the forums yesterday and it wasn't like that. I checked to see if someone hacked my account but it doesn't look like it.
I hope it's just the site being goofy...

Someone may have gifted you a subscription. It's possible for a pre-existing subscriber to do that now.

Really? I'm curious as to why someone would give me one. I mean, I don't have any significant interaction with any particular user on the site.

As far as I'm aware, if it was an anonymous gift, the only way you'll definitively find out is if the gifter tells you who they are.

If you can access the subscriber forum you are probably a subscriber. If not it is just the site being goofy. You can also see if you have subscriber settings where you can turn off some or all of the ads on the site.

The bottom of the subscription settings page will also tell you how long you have - it should be roughly a month, a quarter or a year out. If not, goofiness is at fault.

Thank you for the info!
Whoever gifted it to me gave me 1 month. I suppose I could just ask on the subscriber forum.

Someone recently bought gift subscriptions for a whole bunch of people. I could find out who, but the actual reports don't tell me who it is, so you'll have to believe be when I say that I have no idea who you should be thanking.

Just noticed that I'm a subscriber too, so I guess I'm one of the people who was gifted? I'm surprised, to say the least.
Thank you, whoever you are!

I would like to encourage you and anyone else who finds themselves to be an unexpected subscriber to come and join us in the Subscriber forum. Say Hi and join us.
And no, it wasn't me. We don't know either.

I guess I must be blind, but I just noticed the Subscriber entry under my avatar this morning. Granted I have been pretty busy lately. I'll drop by the Subscribers' forum now to see what it has to offer.
And thanks to our anonymous benefactor!

Come on over to the Community forum and say hello.
We don't know (or aren't admitting) who the sponsors are.

I didn't see this thread last night when I created mine, but it's a very nice and unexpected surprise. I always wanted to use the "Thread Killer" tag, so thank you guys
