The same reason I don't buy button peripherals as it is shiny and small, my cat would play with that and would lose it the day it got to my place, so that is one thing I won't be buying even if I REALLY did want it.

Is a "zing alloy" actually a thing or did they just misspell "zinc"?

Hmmm.... the U.S. penny is 97% zinc and isn't terribly conductive or magnetic.
