Yeah, Shiki was first thing I thought of but you forgot Hinamizawa from Higurashi no naku koro ni(edit). I totally skipped that one, well, the probably one spooky place I can think of that monster house from Ghost Hunt.

The city on the surface world in Texhnolyze is, for me, probably the creepiest place I've come across in anime.

Nice list, speaking of Higurashi, what about that Rokkenjima island from Umineko? Filled with witches, mysteries, devils and murders. Surprised that the list didn't mention any locations in Aoi Bungaku, Ghost Hound/Hunt. They have some of the spookiest places I've seen in anime. That dam in Ghost Hound for example.
I would also put the castle in King of Thorn for some monster movie fun.

Some of the locations in Ghost Hunt got pretty creepy as well, especially the Blood-Stained Labyrinth arc.

I agree with this suggestion. On top of that place being a claustrophobia-inducing hell, it added even more with all those beasts and monsters running about.

Nice list this week as always Lynzee. To be honest I would want to visit the village of Shirakawa in the Toyama Prefecture of Japan. That Hinamizawa is actually based on and a big tourist attraction. Something about rural country area's with dense forest always seem to calm me down.. Heh.

I'd say Hinamizawa is scarier. Umineko is definitely superior to Higurashi overall (barring that horrible anime adaptation), but Umineko always places more emphasis on mystery, not horror. It's still pretty creepy, just not NEARLY as much as Higurashi.

"I'm always watching Mima's Room!!"
Love me some Perfect Blue.
What about Ai's House in Jigoku Shoujo? Just being outside in that orange haze...creepy. I guess of course that would mean it's technically Hell itself

Dusk Maiden of Amnesia? I don't know how scary it can be or could be considering that the school tour is run by a ghost haunting the place.
Another? That hospital is much scarier than the doll museum as they couldn't even afford to light the morgue floor. Not that we can't forget the decrepit elevator...
Can't argue against 1 and 2 as series but as places, it's more about how those they are viewed by the camera and changed by outside forces; The towns actually are kind of nice.
The "many roomed" mansion from Ghost Hunt should be number one. It's like someone built a haunted house around a haunted house so you have windows looking out into darkened rooms, echoing noises, strange drafts and a confused state of perception as part of the building plan.

I'll +1 the honorable mention for Ghost Hunt's places, though I found the Doll House arc to be the creepiest. I think the "scientific" approach of the main characters made the various hauntings creepier than if they'd all been ghost-blasting exorcists.
I also think some of the places in Mushi-shi were pretty creepy: the house in Cotton Changeling, and the labyrinth in Pickers of Empty Cocoons. (Since this is a show I like to rewatch for it's calming effect, though, I wouldn't even really call it an "honorable mention" for the List. It's more creepy-in-theory than actually-creeping-you-out-as-you-watch.)

Personally, I think all of them are scary. *is a coward when it comes to horror movies/shows* >>;;;
As for the poll, it was difficult to decide because I actually like Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Nami, Luffy (DUH ), and Chopper the most! >__<;;;
