Well, I was just wondering about how many people have experienced the feeling that they have watched an anime before even when they haven't, I personally experience this a lot, more so as of late. I think it would be interesting for people to discuss their experiences as well.
The latest experience I've had is with Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (or the American title Rumbling Hearts) in several of the episodes. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but almost every episode seems somewhat familiar to me, even though I KNOW I haven't seen it before. I clearly remember Akane's hairstyle, as well as the other girl's blue hair originally being long, then being cut short, the only one I don't remember is Akane's sister. This lead me to believe there was another anime with very similar scenes and characters, but I can't be sure. It's just the feeling that I have seen this before that really bothers me, especially when I see a scene and know exactly how it will turn out from the words to the movements. It's moments like this that make me think I have some sort of esp or something ><
So, has anyone else had experiences like this? Feel free to talk about it as it can be rather interesting, especially if people have experiences that are almost identical

I experienced something like that with Nanaka 6/17, episode 8--the plot is already standard enough, for in that episode several girls "compete" to give the most TLC to the male lead, who is sick with one of those dreadful colds that the Japanese ph3ar so much. I'm not sure where I've seen it before, but I was able to perfectly predict that a bowl of rice porridge would wind up on his head, and I even knew whose bowl it would be. (Btw I didn't use spoiler tags because the episode completely telegraphs everything, and anyone who's watched comedy anime before would be able to predict it.) I know I've seen similar situations and similar outcomes, though I'm not sure where.

Gundam Seed and Mai-Otome. It is very easy to find one in fight scenes.

Eh, I'm not talking about similarities in just the fight scenes or stuff like that, I'm talking about the feeling that you have already seen a scene before, but you know you haven't. I'll go back to the one I mentioned earlier. Throughout thi entire series I felt like I have actually seen these exact characters in this same situation, but I know I haven't (I keep an up-to-date list on everything I've seen). It's one of those things where you know you've seen the scene somewhere before and exactly how it occurred with the same characters, but you can't exactly point out how, when, or where you've seen it before. Throughout the series I has practically bashing my head against the wall trying to remember where I've seen this situation before, but I couldn't think of anything at all. This kind of thing happens a lot to me as I've mentioned in my previous post, but it's usually not as vivid as what this one was, which is why I was really freaked out... Anyway, I want to read of some other people's experiences similar to this, might get a good laugh out of some people
P.S. Not to mention that this has happened in real life plenty of times as well...It seriously freaks me out how accurate my dreams can be, but I don't recall dreaming of this anime before watching it, well, I guess in due time I'll figure out exactly what this reminds me of, if it wasn't just a dream before I watched it...

You mean like how Vandread has basically the entire incarnation of cast from Sakura Taisen? The only person that I cannot name in Vandread from Sakura Taisen is one of the three sub char girls.

Hmm, never really noticed that, but I'm talking more along the lines of the characters looking nearly exactly the same, if not the same. It's kind of interesting though, how many animes have this same storryline and one of the main heroines has long blue hair that later gets cut? How many animes also include a girl with the same middle school uniform as Akane (which was the biggest hit to me IMO, I could swear I saw that uniform before, as well as her hairstyle and high school uniform). It just strikes me odd when one can watch an anime for the first time and then start wondering if it really is the first time you've seen it. Of course, with the many genres there's going to be "some" similarities, but not to the point where you think the anime in question is committing copyright infringement since it seems exactly the same as something you think you've seen before. I dunno, maybe I'm just going crazy, have over 130 titles under my belt (don't have them all listed yet) and growing, so maybe my imagination ran wild and produced an image of something I wanted to see, which turned out to be this. I think I will take a small quote for Night Head Genesis (modified a bit) "So what happens if a human can unlock the other 70% of his brain's functions?" (like I said, modified a bit, but the jist of what they said).
