That Popful Mail video was all sorts of goofy, nostalgic 90's era anime win. Looked like Megumi Hayashibara would've helmed this series back in her heyday, if it had actually gotten an OVA.

Love Vanillaware's art style, so hoping someone localize Grand Knights History ASAP.

LMAO @ Yu-Gi-Oh Nazi salute.
Beyond the Labyrinth looks potentially awesome, hopefully it'll get a NA release.

I hope to get God Eater soon. I wasn't too interested in Monster Hunter for the reasons the review mentioned, but GE looks like things were done noticeably better.
Plus, I love that puffy hat.

Wow, those Beyond the Labyrinth screenshots are impressive. I'm definitely going to be keeping my eye on this one.

Popful Mail: That trailer was pretty slick. A shame they never did make an OVA or anything out of this great game. I never played it (I'm so ashamed! ) but I had the privilege of watching a friend who owned it play the game. Needless to say, I loved what I saw. As far as the Nendoroid thing goes, I would vote for Parin of Gurumin. That game is one of the most entertaining replayable dungeon action RPGs!
Beyond the Labyrinth: I'm with you Todd. I've been saying it for a year. Where's Valkyrie Profile Hrist already, huh tri-Ace? Any time now would be nice. I just think they should try to keep working on a series that's garnered much attention in the RPG community.
Grand Knights History: I am so getting this! Vanillaware makes the best games with the most gorgeous character and background art ever. 2D never looked better. It'll be unique to play a turn-based RPG from these guys.
Chaos Rings: First game was and still is iPhone gaming excellence. I can't wait for the prequel and sequel. Such a fascinating multifaceted story with great characters.
Gods Eater Burst: After reading this review, I'm actually interested in getting it. I really don't get Monster Hunter's fame (don't attack me over it, mkay?) and that's honestly fine with me. Still these childish renaming schemes are getting old. Is slapping the word God on the cover of a game really that offensive to whoever? I swear, we live in the most easily butthurt society.

Not being a gamer at all, I read your column just for the one-liners you float over the illustrations.
They're hilarious!
Thanks for the extra effort - at least one reader is enjoying them!

Beyond the Labyrinth's heroine will reportedly talk quite a bit during the game. |
Whether she talks is an immaterial matter. What is of greater interest is whether she will Dance the Magic Dance.

Instant votes for all the non-cute ones!
That being said I really think Vanillaware's artstyle is wasted on a simplified product like nendoroid. A proper scale figure would be more befitting.

The Nendroids were for Falcom characters, not Vanillaware characters. There are already some pretty striking figures for Vanillaware characters, sadly mostly out of print now.
But go ahead and vote. Using Google translate, the procedure is fairly clear. You just can't actually win anything without a Japanese mailing address.

Never heard of Popful Mail, but Falcom is god.
Everyone with a PSP needs to get Ys Seven, Oath of Felghana, and Trails of the Sky, and everyone else needs to get a PSP and then play those games.
Anyone else notice that cross-dressing "Princess Joshua" is one of the choices in that poll?

I always thought Popful was cute...even if she was a manhood burning bitch.

Funny you should mention that. I finished Trails few days ago (all 368 BP, loved it). I'm planning on moving to the Ys series next, as soon as I finish another run of Gurumin (seriously, why haven't people played this one more? It's great fun).
Cross-dressing Joshua is now becoming a major highlight of the first chapter

Mail's character is somewhat similar to Lina Inverse.
