Yeah I love her voice, her music, everything about her singing style. And it occurred to me I can't think of any Japanese singer who I like better.
Likely runners up are: Mell Angela Aya Hisakawa Maaya Sakamoto Yuuka Hyde Gackt Hatsune Miku 
I've always been a big Elton John fan, so that's pretty much the person who's contending with KOTOKO as far as favorite vocalist overall. Not sure yet, I really adore both of them. |

I was at a con once where KOTOKO was performing, but from what I heard she was a real jerk to all the staff setting up the show. Never showed up on time for rehearsals, totally unfriendly and condescending, ate-up and self-absorbed, and from what I heard just generally a spoilt and demanding, immature little person who was more interested in promoting herself stateside than wasting time at a convention for otaku.
That's just hearsay though, I never met her in person so I can't say what she's like personally. I did see her in concert though, she could sing pretty well from what I recall. Sorta modern synthy stuff, not my thing but technically well done. |

KOTOKO is pretty good, definitely one of my favs. One artist I've been getting into a lot lately is Nana Mizuki.
