This is unexpected. Why couldn't Sony do a anime anthology of Killzone like how MS did Halo Legends. After playing Resistance, Killzone, Uncharted, and Ratchet & Clank and saw Halo Legends I thought why didn't Sony have their western IP to be adapted into a video game since they already have a anime division branch, Aniplex. Ratchet & Clank is very popular among Japanese gamers and it's perfect for a anime anthology adaptation. Resistance, Killzone, and Uncharted could benefit if they have anime anthology adaptation as in attract more Japanese people to try the game and also introduce anime to western fans. I always thought Killzone with it's interesting story would make a great anime and before anyone come in and tell me "we already have a Killzone anime, it's called Jin-Roh". Yes I'm aware of the Helghast-Jin-Roh comparison.

I actually disagree, I don't think that it's good to simple turn games into anime. For one Killzone already has a non-anime established style, which makes the transition an odd one. In the same regard I don't think that just because these games are made by a Japanese company they should become anime, that seems more like mashing two mediums together. Many Japanese games have become anime, but they are generally ones which already use that style, and more importantly, that style of storytelling. For a comparison, I also don't think you can make any western game into a movie, it just won't work.

Besides, Ratchet and Clank has already had a manga and has a 3d film planned. In that instance the 3d film is the same style as the game, so I could see that working but still...

The last Killzone sold like 30K in Japan so I guess this is some publicity stunt to drum up interest like that Tomb Raider and Mass Effect manga which didn't exactly work >_> but worth trying I guess

Well I don't see anything wrong with western games getting anime. I know quite a few western games that are well popular among Japanese that probably deserve a anime anthology. Fallout for example would make a decent anime anthology, so does Elder Scroll (given the game popularity in Japan and the anime mods coming out of Japan), that would make a decent anime anthology. If Japanese games can get anime, and several popular western franchises (Marvel Comic, Batman, The Animatrix, and Halo) can get anime then what's wrong with having Killzone (along with Uncharted, Resistance, and Ratchet & Clank) getting anime anthologies. There's a lot of benefit for having anime adaptation, it's a win-win scenario, I don't expect it to be the best but it makes fans happy and it bring Japanese and westerner close together.

Console-only FPS's are always shit anyway, so I don't see how having a manga is going to help sales in Japan...

(excluding Goldeneye and Turok I and II)
