Well I'm not new to jpop but I have been looking for something new to listen to. I already know all the usual's you know utada, boa, namie amuro, gackt and everything. I like lots of types of music but I usually don't like any really heavy metal. Visual kei is fine though (as I stated before I like gackt.) So recommend anything you think is good.

I've consumed my fair share of J-pop (although mostly of the boy-type; I tend to dislike female singers for whatever reason ), but generally I find I prefer J-rock to pop, 9 times out of 10 (and no, I'm not so much into VK; I can't categorize my taste that easily). Here is a short list of some of my personal favorites:
Bump of Chicken (their subtitled PVs on YouTube have made me cry)
100s
Ryohei Yamamoto
Akeboshi
Dragon Ash (the last 2 albums, specifically)
LAMBSEY
Suga Shikao
Tackey & Tsubasa (the only Johnny's artists for whom I like more than just 2-3 songs)
Sodagreen
New Pants
(okay, those last 2 are Chinese but they're realllllllly good and I had to sneak them into my favorites list-- check out their videos on YouTube)

Check out Youtube, and put in JPop. Maybe you'll get results there.

If I put it in youtube the results would be overwhelming lol I wouldn't know where to start (even though it would mostly be familiar)
