Where in Hostion is ADV located? I hope it isn't in a place that could take massive damage form Rita.

Hopefully it won't delay any of their releases, especially FUMOFFU V4...

I think it's on the north side of houston on Sam Houston Parkway which is about 30 minutes away from downtown Houston. They won't get hit as hard as Galveston or cities closer to the coast. There is still no word on exactly where it will make landfall. I think Rita coming in near Houston is about a 24% chance as of the last news report. It could also hit further west or east. Almost 100% chance that we will get 75-80 mile an hour sustained winds and rain late tomorrow in Houston. Or maybe over 100 according to where it comes in. Hopefully, things will be ok and their offices and employees will be ok, and that EVERYONE in Houston during Rita will stay safe. |

I'd be a bit more worried about the safety of the staff and everything there at ADV headquarters as opposed to the release of one little product >_> |

I just hope Rita weakens before it hits Saturday.
Two hurricanes so quickly, it's insanity... |

Nah, I'm more worried about Getbackers 10, Elfen Lied 4, NGE Plantinum Box... The thread title was misleading. I thought they went under. |

It's fairly common, just not two category 5 hurricanes. |

Thanks for caring about those of us living there. Your concern is much appreciated. Getting out is insane. Some friends of our family got several miles in about 4 hours (They left at about 4 in the morning) and then gave up and went back home. And gas stations are out of gas everywhere. So if we try to leave, we are highly likely to run out of gas before we even get out of Houston. |

You guys making these comments about wanting DVDs are just sick. I'm guessing you're the type who'd, say, not give a damn if something happens to David Williams but you'd bitch and moan about a future disc of Gantz being delayed. You make me sick. I hope all your favorites get delayed because of your attitude towards a desperate situation like this. But I have to agree with you on the thread title being misleading. However, it's doubtful ADV will go under anytime soon. |

Amen, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the Houston area and the Texas/Louisiana coast directly in the path of Rita. The last I checked, the weather reports stated that Rita might hit landfall somewhere between Beaumount, TX and Lake Charles, LA either Friday night or Saturday morning; that means that Port Authur, TX, is in the direct path of the eye of the storm. I also read that New Orleans - already ravaged by their weak levee systems thanks to Katrina - is geting a lot of rain from the eastern bands from Rita. I think the other concern that ADV will have - aside, of course for the safety of their employees - is also potential damage from floodwaters affecting their sea of electrical equipment. I read thru this Anime on DVD threadthat Luci Christian cancelled her appearence at AWA in Atlanta this weekend in order to evacuate. Also thru the thread, Monica Rial and Greg Ayers shared their thoughts and thanks to us fans for their safety, but they do plan on making it to Atlanta this weekend. I don't know if Vic Mignogna, Jessica Boone, Mariela Ortiz, or Sasha Paysinger made the trip, though - I assume that they still plan on being there since it wasn't announced that they cancelled. Matt Greenfield won't be at Atlanta, either, but I read that he and his wife Tiffany Grant are going to be in Australia this weekend for some project they're exploring. Again, to everyone at ADV and all of the Houstonians at the ANN forum and about: Take care of yourself and be safe! I'll be praying for your safety through this very dangerous situation. Remember, people: Buildings and physcial items such as DVDs can be replaced - LIVES CANNOT!!! Last edited by biliano on Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:29 pm; edited 1 time in total |

When I saw the announcement, I thought my heart was gonna jump out...
Its good to hear they inspected their buildings for any employees, I hope everyone makes it out okay. No work yesterday? Thats cool. I would worry more about evacuating than something at the office if I were them anyday. I will be praying for ADV and everyone in Houston tonight and tomorrow so their staff and employee makes it in one piece. And all the unfortunate people out their affected by the storm, my heart goes out to you and I hope you get out safely too. |

I'd ask who David Williams is, but I've made myself look like a big enough tool here to last a few years. So I wont.
...I'll look it up instead.[/quote] |
