Of all the new, fresh things that Toonami could've used...they pick this?
Gonna be a short-lived revival it is.

I haven't seen it, but aren't there another two full seasons? It could last well into fall if they play all of the episodes.

Awesome news! IGPX is a great series and a very fun watch. Most of the DVDs are also damn expensive, so this will be the first time in years the series can be seen legally without paying inflated eBay prices. Thats a positive development if I've ever seen one.

The first "season" was a 5 episode micro-series.
It was then rebooted as a full-length TV series with two 13-episode seasons.
As far as we know, they'll only be showing the full-length series. Even if they were aired back-to-back the micro-series would barely take up a single half-hour slot anyways, with its 5-minute runtime.

Yeah!
I really liked that series when it was on Toonami. I wanted to buy the DVDs, but like double07 was saying, the price was too high. I'm totally looking forward to this!

Wish they would play the original micro-series I thought that one was much better.

I wanted to watch the whole series since they're hard to find on the DVDs now-a-days. Good thing they're re-airing IGPX.

It mentions in their post that it will be replacing one of the Cowboy Bebop time slots. So it will apparently be airing at 4/4:30 am est.
So it makes me wonder, much like GitS:SAC disappeared, how much longer Bebop will be airing on Toonami.

They must really not have anything if they are airing this.

Agreed. It's nice that they're airing this being Toonami's only original series, but I always preferred the original and was a bit disappointed when the full series aired and was so different.
I also found an interesting tidbit on their tumblr. Apparently they have to pay more to air two episodes in one night. I thought it was odd to air two eps of Bebop while letting longer series like Naruto only get one, but I'm sure they've got Bebop locked in a better contract then a "new" show.

Actually, they said they may reshuffle the schedule a bit. I don't think it'll be around 4 am est.

Why would Time Warner/Cartoon Network/Toonami even care about Anime anyways? They have long abandoned the medium. They only show Anime once a week and that's it. They mostly have the night blocs dedicated to Family Guy, easily one of the worst cartoons on tv.
Just get a Roku box for $59.99 and you can stream Crunchyroll and all sorts of cool stuff through your TV. There isn't much on Cable tv nowadays. The only good thing they show on Cartoon Network is "MAD" a cartoon that mostly parodies American pop-culture. I get good laughs every-time I tune in to watch that. But other than that, that's about it.

This is kind of a big deal to Toonami fans. This was the only original series Toonami ever produced. The DVDs are rare and Toonami didn't even get to air the last few episodes (it was bumped to the 4am death slot like Yu Yu Hakusho).

Just watch it over Hulu or The FUNimation site instead. If you really want to watch it on TV, buy the Bluray DVD, slide it in on your DVD Player/PS3 and you're good to go.
There's no real reason to watch Anime on cable TV anyway. Just buy the DVD and watch it whenever you feel like it. Simple as that.
