I don't read a lot of manga, I only have a few series. Recently I finally finished the first run of battle angel alita, not last order yet, and I bought the books from a few different sources. I used amazon for about 2 books and thus have been looking at some of the recommendations they've been sending my account. Sundome got my attention for the cover, definitely, but then the story sounded interesting atleast. Trying to figure out if the series had concluded in english as I wasn't completely sure after looking it up here, I read an unfortunate tiny bit of text of a massive spoiler about the end of the series and now I don't even feel like it.

Within an hour, I learned of it, got interested, and then entirely deflated. Reminds me of Heavy rain for ps3, but in that instance someone had maliciously spoiled it for other people(and me), not just someone who didn't realize how to mark their damn spoilers.

Would you still bother? Do spoilers matter for you? I realize the journey is important, but when I'm just waiting for what I already know to happen, I just get so annoyed.

For me, it generally depends on the series. If something is built around shocking twists and turns, I don't want to know them ahead of time. But for other things I don't mind spoilers and in some cases I actively seek them out. Generally speaking, comedy is the one where I don't care about spoilers because it really is about how it happens rather than what happens.

But I don't like being unexpectedly spoiled, that's lame. Though it is always a risk you take when searching for information on the internet and so it will happen every now and then.

Yes it definitely does happen now and then, all the more disappointing when it's something big. You should have seen me with Dark Knight and Inception. I didn't look them up, ever. I didn't watch trailers(other than what was playing at blockbuster for TDK since I worked there), I didn't let ANYONE talk to me about them. Batman and Chris Nolan fanboy and I definitely went out of my way to keep in the dark about those two, though his films are usually kept a bit more quiet than other blockbusters anyway.

Still thinking of Sundome, if I get it now I'm not sure if it'll be out of actual interest or spite though.

I don't wanna come across as mean, but why would you even read the preview of the last volume of a series? Even if you didn't know it was the last, I'd recommend not reading any besides the first volume, ever.

In regards to SundoMe, if you're interested I'd definitely recommend, its a great series, even if do know sorta what happens.

I don't really mind spoilers as long as the rest of the story is worth it, also it helps if the characters are interesting. As far as I'm concerned it's not all about the destination, it's also about the journey (though the destination is important too). But I do have to admit that allot of the times the spoilers can take the kick out of the story. But I still think that if the series is good then it's worth your time.

I've read most of Sundam so far and it's pretty interesting. The characters are all kind of depressing in their own unique way and the story as a whole is really different. Also the whole thing is extremely sexual, this is definitely not a kid's manga, this might just be porn depending on how you see it. I basically compare it to Japanese pink films which are basically very sexually explicit movies, but they do have a message. If you're the type that gets uncomfortable with that kind of thing easily then this may not be to your liking.

I sometimes seek out spoilers. I like to know what I'm getting into. But if there is a huge surprise at the end or a big twist in the middle of a story, I do appreciate it better if I've not been spoiled. It's kind of rare that I will lose all interest in a story just because I know a bit more of the plot than I should.

That being said, I was not happy with the person who spoiled the big twist in the sixth Harry Potter book before I finished it. Than I saw the youtube vid of a bunch of guys driving by a bookstore on the night the book was released screaming; "Snape kills Dumbledore!" Now that was funny! Very Happy

(Yes, that makes me a hypocrite. No, I don't think the fact that Snape kills Dumbledore in the 6th HP book is still a spoiler. As for why he did it, you have to read the 7th book to find out! Wink )

When did I ever say that? I never specifically looked up previews of the last volume(I specifically avoided looking at the blurbs on amazon for anything past volume 1), I was trying to discern what WAS the last volume, since if it wasn't finished I probably would've shelved it in the back of my mind for later.

Definitely not. Half of my interest is because while it doesn't sound wholly a "grown up" and scientific look at sex and turn ons(not like that sounds interesting either), in anime atleast, almost any kind of partial nudity or ecchi is nearly always comedy for the anime and titillation for the viewer. I like that here it is a core part of the series and is intended as much for all the characters in the story possibly more so than anyone reading it.
