Hello Vagabond fans !
Since Viz has caught up to the Japanese release and Inoue-san has stated that Vagabond will be started up again on May 19 in Japan I thought it would be a good idea to discuss some of the things to come in this great manga involving Kojiro's arc. First, what events or plot lines do you think we'll have before Kojiro actually faces Musashi? Second, lets predict what volume the fight between Musashi and Kojiro will actually start. I think before we get the Musashi and Kojiro fight and the end of his arc I hope we get to see: - How Tsujikaze got the huge scar on his face from Kojiro. - A duel to the death between Kojiro and Ittosai (Ittosai's speech in v20 would seem to give hint that this could happen which I hope it does because it would so kick ass). - How Gon gets his true inspiration to become one of the great swordsman (or spearman) of Japan. And I predict we'll start to see Musashi and Kojiro's fight in volume 24 Or discuss anything on your mind! Sorry I just really love a great manga and this is truely one of them, so I just wanted to see if there are any other Vagabond fans out there because I'm the only one who buys it at my local comic store . It definitely doesn't get the recognition it deserves (in terms of sales at least )! |

It's good to know Vagabond's going to start up soon. Inoue got caught up in the whole Kojiro ark in my opinion. In my opinion he should have made the ark shorted and got back to Musashi sooner. I applause him for attempting something as ambitious as trying to develop a deaf character (without coping and giving him though bubbles either as most people would do), but the last three or so volumes have just been repetative character development and fights (which are admittedly very well done). Not that I don't think it's good, but it has gone down in quality since the early teens. Hopefully Inoue will bring more focus back to the story.
Assuming that he doesn't stricktly follow Yoshikawa's story, I'd say that their initail confrontation will come around 25, assuming Inoue will take some liberties with subplots. And while there does seem to be a lack of Vagabond fans on this board (me and darkhunter are the only ones I can think of at the moment), the series does enjoy fairly strong sales and has recieved heaps of critical praise. Inoue even scored an Eisner nomination for best cartooninst (Craig Thompson won, as he very much deserved to). I think its future in the US is pretty solid. |

I bought the Tsujikaze Kohei figure. It doesn't look as good in person as the screen shots do, but the kusarigama is still cool.

I really want to see the fight between Musashi and Kojiro now.
Poor Matahashi, trying to play off as Sojiro. spoiler[Will Grandma still go after Musashi? Knowing that Matahachi (Is it Matahachi or Matahashi..i forget....) is alive and told her his reasons for not coming back.] |
