Here is what the first audio transmission spells out:
Code:

RIGHTSTUF
52066
62155
55521
87770
55813
12444
65281
22230
338

Here is the second transmission:
Code:

RIGHTSTUF
25609
68431
21589
32570
18266
33271
05483
88650
338

Spent about a half hour trying to crack it, but got no where. (Most likely due to my lack of understanding out the source code of the web page and the meaning of the various digits.

I am just going to guess K-On! for the hell of it. Who knows though, if not Nozomi, then maybe Bandai or something down the line. Other than that, I have no idea. Summer Wars would be a pretty sweet pick up too, but as the posts following this one say, they would both be pretty costly I'd imagine.

Good luck to everyone else, I stink at these sorts of things! Very Happy

I'd be very shocked if Nozomi had the coin to pick up the license for a popular show like K-ON!

I have to be honest: I don't have a FRICKIN' clue what this show may be, but my curiosity has been piqued, for sure.

I love Aria and Emma. I hope it's something just as awesome. Captain Tylor and His and Her are cool too.

Oh come on! I'm on spring break, I should have to use my brain for a whole week!

I'll probably try to figure it out anyway.

I'm going with either "Dennou Coil" or "Always drink your Ovaltine."

Well, I have no idea what the code actually means but there was a very prominent recent anime that confoundedly remains unlicensed and features a character having to crack codes made up of long series of numbers...

...Would Summer Vacation be better timing?

But if people think Nozumi wouldn't even have the clout to license K-on! than I wonder how they would be able to afford spoiler[Summer Wars.]

Dennou Coil is a Bandai Visual title, so I'm not sure if they would be willing to let something like that go "out of the family".

Personally, I would so like for it to be Sea Story (Umi Monogatari), but I don't believe it's as big a show as to warrant this level of publicity and hype. Sad

spoiler[I was thinking that too, and considering that codes figure heavily into the movie's plot and blue shading on the countdown site, it sounds like a good possiblity and worth the buildup. It would seem like the film would be too expensive for a small company like Nozomi/RS to license, but perhaps they are working on it with Kadokawa, a la the old U.S. subsidiary (i.e. not handling all of the costs). Also, I thought Hosada said in an ANN interview or elsewhere late last year that the movie was already licensed for North America or was in the process of and couldn't comment any further on it.]

A press release and its own website? Cool

You're aware Rightstuf did the exact same gimmick for (at least) the last two shows they licensed right?

@Sam Murai: Logic be damned! Little Orphan Annie has never steered me wrong in the past! Smile

Spastic's is a good guess, but I would also be very surprised if that were the case.

Those two things are usually the norm for most shows licensed, and arguably, ARIA and Maria-sama were bigger titles than Sea Story. What makes this different is the amount of effort going into this annoucement, which make it sound like it will be a sizable deal. Love it as I may, I don't see Sea Story as a likely candidate due to its relative niche-ness (even if Junichi Sato worked on it). Of course, if it wasn't a big title, it wouldn't be the first time an announced title didn't meet the size of the hype given...

Summer Wars has been licensed in UK by Manga Entertainment, so I hope that means it will get into R1 territory sooner or later.
What I would love to see here is Mononoke, but who am I kidding?

Edit: Also, that must be the hardest riddle ever.

Both are a string of 5-digit sequences ending with a sing 3-digit sequence which is "338" in both. If we assume 338 translates as something like a fullstop then it is a matter of finding out what code that is in then translating the rest.

Woo, new Nozomi licenses. Whatever they are, I'm sure they'll be awesome. Nozomi has pretty good taste in the shows they pick up.

I think I've solved the "code" but there's still at least one more "transmission" with the actual message and the first two are only the "key".

spoiler[They're 43 digits each, which is a prime number, but both end with "0338", which almost certainly means "message end".

You're left with 39 digits each, which is a very good number to end up with as it can be divided up into 13 groups of 3 digits per message, or 26 groups of 3 digits total, with none of the groups of 3 digits repeating.

If you assume that each group of 3 digits represents a letter:

First message: A=520 B=666 C=215 D=555 E=521 F=877 G=705 H=581 I=312 J=444 K=652 L=812 M=223 "end message"=0338

Second message: N=256 O=096 P=843 Q=121 R=589 S=325 T=701 U=826 V=633 W=271 X=054 Y=838 Z=865 "end message"=0338

So all you need to do is wait for the third message and the answer should be simple to decode.]
