Newsflash: SMUT SELLS. And yes, I think Queen's Blade is getting a dub. It's all about sales.

I've always liked the character designs, especially their eyes and hair. Though the artists really need to learn how to draw boobs; you'd think the focus of the show wouldn't just be circles.

If the majority of your "experience" is through porn, your perception may become "silicone enhanced." These overworked artists may need to take a refresher course in the Gainax Bounce - though that would be more work to animate.

Of course smut sells but it having dub isn't really necessary. The people who will buy this would still do so if it was sub only.

if smut sells then media blasters may as well get their lazy hands on every bit of perverted fan service anime out there. honestly I have not seen this nor will due to my erm dislike of media blasters work because it either comes out poorly done, half assed, or just so awful I want to drive an iron pike through my ear. all I gotta say about ikkitousen dragon destiny getting a dub is this, media blasters sucks and they know it so they're desperate to make any kind of sale that they can so they'd probably go as far as dubbing hentai next if they're going to go this far for a sale

Correct! Nailed it in one!
100% Guilty Pleasure viewing. This labyrinthine maze of historical name dropping, and unapologetic fan-service (the likes of which I haven't seen since Najica Blitz Tactics... or the 1st Ikkitousen) has nothing redeemable in it, save, well... gawrsh, it sure is purdy to look at. I've given up trying to delve beyond that, but agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer that "Fast-moving, trashy and completely shameless; heaven for fans of unrepentant exploitation" probably sums up -more likely than not- why I watch it.
The Dub is atrocious (one of the worst I've heard in a long time), containing an entirely new cast from the 1st Ikkitousen (which at the time I didn't think was that great, but by comparison, the first Ikki Dub is Masterpiece Theater). I've seen less butchering done in a Butcher Shop.
As I said, this is 100% Guilty Pleasure Viewing. If all anime were this underwhelming and craptacular, I'd no longer watch anime. But as an occasional palate cleanser, it works.

They already have, and they also used real porn actresses in the dub of Words Worth.

I figure it's because it's fanservice-heavy. Those titles are the ones that could reach out a little further than that of other niche titles, hence them being more/potentially profitable to dub. There are likely people (who aren't necessarily anime fans) who are willing to purchase it just because there's an attractive girl on the front, too.
And to play Devil's Advocate, there are people who do enjoy the dub, and are actually not buying it because of the voice-over change.

What does necessary have to do with it? Apparently Mediablasters looked at past sales data and estimated that dubbing would add enough sales to cover the cost of the dub and generate a larger profit. That's the bottom line.

They've already dubbed hentai before, as has every other company that has released hentai anime in the US as well. Why should it bother you? I have neither an interest in dubs or hentai, but it's not as if they're forcing me to watch it. I mean rea... no... no... not again...
I suppose if that's somehow offensive a mod will delete it, but I don't understand or relate to people who react as if that is what companies do to you when they release something that isn't exactly what you'd like.

Ikkitousen is to Three Kingdoms as much as A Tale of Two Titties is to Dickens.

They reach into a niche. A niche of trash.
To a certain -- very important -- degree, the trashier a show is, the more unsophisticated the market is, and the more they demand dubs. OTOH, the more arthouse a show is, the less the market demands dubs [much the same for otaku-centric shows, for slightly different reasons].
But the important point is, Ikki Tousen isn't selling to the "general market". It's selling to a niche, a very limited niche: not the normal anime niche market, but still a niche.

Please present yourself to an anime distributor as soon as possible. You are clearly more informed and savvy about distribution matters than the people currently employed there. I know they will appreciate your insights tremendously.
