Thank god, it'd have a massive waste of material if it was just going to be scrapped. Two months was far too short of a time to display that thing.

Sounds great So it will stand in Japan for at least a few more years? I hope it's still standing around 2013-2017 cause if I were to ever visit Japan or study abroad or something, that'd be the time! <3 Gundam!!

Well, the original Gundam is now a trans-generational icon. As such, it would have been a pity for the statue to have only been a temporary exhibit.
Who knows? It may even be used as the location for a few more themed weddings...

I'm relieved the Gundam Statue isn't gone for good, but there's one thing I wish they had done. Instead of building the first Gundam they should've built the Wing Zero instead from Gundam Wing.
