I misspelled the site and went to animenewnetwork.com which brought me to an invalid page ad page so I added in the "S" I missed, but instead of bringing me to this site it brought me me to here.

Are you sure you didn't just accidentally put in the wrong address? Maybe you fixed the s but still had something else wrong or put the s in the wrong place. If this happens to you or anyone else again I'd be worried but otherwise it seems more likely to just write it off as a typo.

It doesn't seem to happen anymore, but I tried doing the exact thing three more times and it kept going to that site and I made sure it said animenewsnetwork.com

This is called "typo squatting"It's very common, and there isn't much we can do about it (practically).
You just need to make sure you don't make typos when you enter URLs. Microsfot.com was a pro-linux website for many years... -t |
