Well, she does have some kind of voice acting credentials, but I have to wonder how well she can do in a lead role. That bit of casting seems more like a promotional tool/stunt to prop her up for her US debut (not to mention that the press release makes it seem like she was the character's VA from the start).

Why is she voicing the lead, and not Milla? What, is an anime part any worse for her than the actual movie? Anyway, I think what we really need is an anime version of Boondock Saints.

We're sorta like 7-Eleven. We're not always doing business, but we're always open. That is nicely put. I feel like the Japanese don't have...a way to drop so many f-bombs in one scene. |

I'm still hung up on why anyone would bother with a U.S. release of this pile of crap.

Now that they've mentioned Kuroshitsuji in this article, I just want THAT to get a U.S. release.

Because some people want to see Ultraviolet's journey of self-discovery Dezaki-style. The same thing goes for with LaMB and Tetsuwan Birdy:Decode , 2 more titles that hasn't seen the light of day in R1 yet. It's not like featuring BECCA in Ultraviolet wasn't done before. Simple Plan had a spot front and center in the OP of LaMB at the very least. |

I can't say if the whole series was as crap as the beginning, but it's one I didn't even bother to keep just in case. It finally did finish in fansubs, I think, but took forever and got no love that I could see. You can check out the ANN rating.
Now Birdy was pretty decent, though I haven't watched S2. On my list to circle back and do a re-watch starting with season one. Who knows, though. Sony with money might improve it. More likely they'll just drive sales via marketing tie-in (though the movie sucked generally... but anyway. Guess they are still trying to milk the franchise.). Too bad the anime wasn't better, as it could have been a good gateway anime with big money behind it. |
