Maybe they'll have enough development money to make a gundam or a metal gear!

3,000 orders at $1.35 million apiece is $4.05 billion.

Of course, unless you're required to put the cash up front, then they could say they have 30,000 orders and it would all be the same. Now, if all those 3000 orders had to put down, say at least $100,000 deposit, then we'd be talking.

So.....where exactly in the UC timeline did this happen? It's already years late of Patlabor and a few other mecha series.....

A budding entrepreneur could register a company by the name of Schaft Enterprises Ltd. and become an authorised distributor and reseller. Certain clients would be eager to pay the mark-up.

Gundam too. UC 0079 was supposed to be 2079. And I do not see colonies built in 60 years.

Yeah... O_o
Assuming they get paid that will really help their R&D budget for the next version.

I don't know; I've heard UC begins in the mid-21st century, but some have claimed it started in the 70's.
Anyways, where's our flying cars?

They won't ever exist because they'd be personal aircraft for all intents and purposes and therefore would require a ton of specialized training to fly properly. Stop asking for them.

40 hours of training isn't exactly what I'd call out of the reach of the general population... you can get a P.P.L. for less than $10,000 if you're a fast learner.

Fixed that for you. Flying cars aren't being made purely for legal reasons - the practical problems have already all been solved.
