I guess it's true; Manga is truly ubiquitous in Japan.

Considering part of their second objective is "being an economy that is resistant to risk and uncertainty," I think they might be better off going with assistance from magical girls. Growth without risk is slow, as rapid growth requires taking numerous chances that pay-off.

The book's heroine covers such topics as "making the economic unification of East Asia a reality,"...

I wonder what they meant by that. Confused

Not only that, this part about the manga really stroked me the wrong way:
Quote:
Update: The wraparound jacket band (pictured above) on the book features a glowing blurb from Prime Minister Tarō Asō, a self-professed manga fan. Asō faces an uphill battle in the parliamentary elections this month.
Dear Prime Minister Asō, please STFU.

The METI's New Economic Growth Strategy doesn't offer any long term solution other than promising to continue to reapply what had worked in the past. While at the same time it didn't mention anything about redeveloping the real "supply" of the Japanese economy; the Japanese populace.

Furthermore, METI mentioned about nourishing the Japanese population in order to improve productivity, when all their business management strategies had been nothing but a system that rewards productivity improvements.

Here's a brain storming idea, how about facilitate a economic growth strategy that will reflect the Japanese population growth? So that instead of Japan sacrificing the livelihood of the existing Japanese populace to an economic system that's designed to raise Japan's productivity, the Japanese people can redevelop themselves through their creativity, thereby ensuring an endless "resources" for the Japanese economy.

What? They want their magical formula that can work instant magic? Well then please look no further than this.

Indeed. The last time Japan talked about unifying East Asia, there was a little bit of trouble.

Yeah, I'd like to Laffer her curves! Somebody call Ron Paul, 'cuz she's gold standard! She can examine my fiscal policy any day, and then we'll adjust exchange rates all night long!

But I'll be sure to use market caps so she doesn't end up undergoing inflation.

Now if they could do a manga of the same idea concerning American economy and the crappy progress we've had getting back on our feet. This idea alone is among the most unique among anime/manga I have seen/heard.

Nope, sorry. The limits of political discourse in mainstream contemporary American comics seems to be Spider-Man fist-bumping Barack Obama.

Although, total nerds like me may recall that the US Navy published a manga about the USS Washington, a nuclear aircraft carrier, and distributed it around the time that carrier was to visit one of our ports in Japan.
