I've just made a pretty big upgrade on the backend, so things should hopefully be much faster from now on. Please let me know if the server seems to be going faster or slower to you.

I've been getting sporadic 504 errors, which usually comes when the page post back takes forever.
This happens on previewing a post as well.
Can I ask why in the world it takes forever to post a preview? Certainly the text isn't being stored in the database prior to actually committing it?
EDIT: Corrected error number.

I've actually gotten a "504 Gateway Time-out" message twice. I'm using the computer at my school, though, so it might be different at home.

Edit: just got four "500 Internal Server Errors" consecutively. Can you say "that was freaky"? Can you also say "I am annoyed"?
The forum has been sporadically slow these past few days. By forum I mainly refer to when I submit a post and it just never loads (but the post goes through after a while). By slow I mean it always says it is waiting for ANN, but several minutes can go by - with nothing else Internet-related happening on my end - and still the pages won't load. Minutes to load a single page with nothing but text and a single measly ad? Crazy. It is very frustrating.

I have same thing. It got pretty bad when I was trying to post a reply... ended up with ~10 duplicate messages... and due to same slowdowns took me 10 minutes to delete them all.

Looks like the comments above are all related to the forum...
What about the rest of the site, has anyone had problems there, or has the rest of the site be good for you?

I actually got the 504 message while I was trying to see a review as well.

Well I wouldn't say it's a strike out Dan, I've at least experienced much faster load times for the encyclopedia and the front and news pages.

I'm getting 504 errors almost every post I make. Sometimes the submitted post goes through anyway, sometimes it doesn't. What is guaranteed is that I get annoyed.

Update: Not sure what you did, but the 504 errors seem to be gone and the site is running MUCH faster than I've seen since moving to the "fast" server.
Kudos.

Now that you're in a good mood, may I ask for a small favor? I promise it won't hurt!
On the page(s) supporting this:
TEXTAREA NAME="anime_cmt[####]" ROWS=3
Can you change ROWS=3 to ROWS=12 (20 would be fabulous)?
This is the comment text box and having a longer vertical space would be really, really helpful for those who like writing more than two words to their page.
Please and thank you.
Note: #### replaces the actual numeric value within the ID. Wasn't sure if it was code specific, so I removed it just to be safe.
