Oh right... Colour me baffled. Possibly the most unlikely choice for SJA ever. Who plays lacrosse out of an Enid Blyton novel anyway?

Yep. All in the name of keeping the unholy trinity (Bleach, Naruto, HxH) running.

@st. owly
Lacrosse was invented by native americans, they still play it. It is also played by many eastern US colleges. I know the University of Virginia has a team since it has been in the news for the last couple of years. One of their star players beat his girlfriend to death. It is not a game I would associate with Japan though.

I guess with Barrage ending, there's pretty much a slot in Shonen Jump Alpha can be summed up as, "Low risk, brand new series".
Mildly interested in the title if it turns out to be any good.

FTFY.
I'm hoping this'll last a while (at least a couple months longer than Barrage did); with any luck, it'll turn out to be a nice change of pace from the usual Shonen fare (but then, this *is* Shonen Jump; I'm not exactly holding my breath here).

Hahaha, what do Japanese know about lacrosse!
Doesn't matter. Uninterested J-readers will get it cancelled soon anyways.

I'm excited they're adding new series to Alpha and that it's a sports title.

Aw, I don't know a thing about the manga but thats a pretty cute smile.
Has SJ been pretty bad about keeping newer series? I'm starting to hear more and more complaints of this, how many have the gone through?

Every year there are a lot of titles that debut in SJ but don't make it beyond two volumes, which seems to be the usual early cut-off for Jump. On rare occasion titles end at only one volume, like Hiroyuki Takei's Jyuki Ningen Jumbor & Yoshio Sawai's Chagecha, though Jumbor has since been rebooted in Ultra Jump.

I remember reading this one shot a while back. It was nice and sweet. And pretty informative on the lacrosse game. Hope people will enjoy it.

And meanwhile, Reborn is STILL shelved, and because Viz has all WSJ titles on lock, nobody else can even rescue the license...

If you'd told me someone could write a successful manga about Go, I would have laughed in your face before reading Hikaru no Go. If the series takes off, it could generate more interest in lacrosse in Japan. It's not a super popular sport, for sure, but it's not completely unknown either.

hmmm.....is it because of this that no one is scanlating this manga? I live outside america. I read the one shot and loved it. <3 But it'll be cancelled....only cliche nisekoi is lasting in JUMP...which saddens me.....I feel this series is a lot better.
