With the recent reduction of single DVD's being released here in america. I find that my anime collection seem to look not as spectacular with all the box sets comming out. So I have decided to refigure my budget and start collecting the japanese single dvds as well as english box sets.

I am looking for a website that sells region 2 DVD's. The only sites I have found are play-asia and yesasia. They both seem to be pretty well rounded and have a nice inventory. However I like to shop around. So can anyone recommend a website? It must meet the following requirements.

1. English language friendly
2. They ship to North America
3. Not a wholesaler

Oh, and does anyone know if amazon japan ships to the US?

If anyone could help me it would be really great.

I dont`t know whether they`re a wholesaler or not, but CD Japan (www.cdjapan.co.jp) has a huge range of Region 2 DVDs, including a large number of US movies (usually with both English and Japanese language options).

RACS (www.animecornerstore.com) has a much more limited (and more expensive) range of R2s.

Here's a long list. All of the ones under "US" are in English, and Amazon.co.jp ships practically anywhere.

hmv.co.jp have a very useable English language option, but I don't know what their range of stock is like.

I am flabbergasted as to why anyone would want to buy Japanese R2 dvds. No English subtitles, 60-$80, and only 1-2 episodes. What part of that screams, "buy me"?

I've used Yes Asia with no problems and I understand that Play Asia is also legit.

This is the killer part. Most Japanese retailers don't intend to service English speakers any more than English retailers intend to service Japanese speakers.

From varmintx's list...

http://www.amazon.co.jp - Ships International
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp - Ships International
http://www.hmv.co.jp/ - Ships International
http://www.towerrecords.co.jp/ - Ships International
http://kakaku.com/ - Never used it.

Nope, CD Japan is not a wholesaler.

What part of Looking for a site that sells Region 2 DVD's screams "Please come piss on my leg and tell me it's raining?"

Don't we have an R2 FAQ somewhere? If not maybe we should consider creating one.
