Wait, what the hell...it covers all the way to episode 9 (since we see Kyouko fighting Oktavia)? Damn, that's a LOT to cover in one movie.
Also, I love how they basically spoiled episode 3. Practically everyone knows what happens in it by now.[/spoiler]

Hahahaha, wow. They really are just using the TV series animation. These first two movies have absolutely no point to their existence.

Well you know how Japanese are very dedicated to the art of recycling. Although, is it me, or the part with Kyouko fighting off those wooden wheels (0:22) feel kinda like new animation.
Step 1: Make a masterpiece one-cour anime
Step 2: PROFIT!
Step 3: Make anime film with recycled animation of said one-cour anime
Step 4: Sprinkle in some new animation in between.
Step 5: MEGA PROFIT!!!

If so, then it could be a very good thing. Episode 10 could very well be expanded. Easily doubled in time if they add a couple more timelines.

Yup. The films are being treated as a back-to-back special since they're being shown in the same month.
There seems to be several hints of slight aesthetic changes, but there doesn't seem to be any change to the plot.

It's not doubt they're using this for profit on people who already love the show... but in the eyes of the creators, I'm sure they are also using these as a way to introduce other kinds of fans to the series without actually rebroadcasting the show on television AGAIN. I already know a few of my Japanese friends who have never seen the show are already waiting to go, since they heard good things about the series. One has only seen one DVD, but she doesn't have the money to go out and actually buy all 6 of them... so she saved up for these movie tickets instead. I'll be with them in Japan then, too, so no doubt I will be tagging along whenever my funds allow it.
In preparation for the final, third movie, of course. I sure know some people will be disappointed if they don't put new stuff in the first two movies, but... I've seen the series almost 11 times all the way through now. I think a compilation film could help shape up some of the awkward atmosphere cuts between episodes, allowing for smoother transition. I am not going to complain--in fact, I like it how it is. I won't be any less excited for it, either way.

Ehhhhh, I'm already Over "Madoka" - everytime I see it I keep thinking how Badass it would be if it was a LIVE Action mini-drama on HBO directed by Tarantino or Zac Snyder.
I wish someone in America would get BOLD and show it on "Adult Swim" or something.

the backgrounds were done by two different companies. so the first half is getting a complete overhaul....
the latter half is getting spruced up too...and i assume the cels will be cleaned up and adjusted as they were supposed to be.....
the schedule when this originally went on air was hectic.....
thus they are spending time on it making it look a lot better, the way it was supposed to be shown....

They already did all those touch-ups with the Bluray/DVD release.

Personally, I'm still wondering what's going to happen in the 3rd movie what with how the series ended.

Who knows, but I think exploring the world Madoka created would be interesting in and of itself.
