Doesn't sound like good new for the PS Vita. Kinda surprised that it is not selling that well.

The problem with the Vita is that the PSP is still very much alive in Japan, and often the 2nd best selling system each week behind 3DS... so theres little reason for people to get a Vita since plenty of companies still put out games for PSP. But in the rest of the world, PSP is essentially dead which forced Sony to get the new system out. It makes it a tough sell since most Japanese developers aren't ready to fully support the Vita.

Niikawa actually asked how many people had a Vita (the room had just over 300 attendees, IIRC). Quite a few people raised their hands (or held up a Vita) and Niikawa seemed pretty surprised at the response (as in, seemed like more than he expected), so maybe if Vita stays strong enough in the west, there might be hope for that.

I wanted to follow up that question and ask about possible ports of Disgaea/Arland Atelier/etc. PS3 games to Vita (since I've heard that porting PS3 native games to Vita is supposed to not be that hard or something, and having portable Atelier would be awesome), but I didn't get picked and the panel ran out of time so soon. :\
