A bit on the pricey side. [Don't feel like paying a hardcover tax again.] But if it's all of 'em in one, I guess it's not a bad deal.

For a second I thought it read $35, 000 at which point I nearly had a heart attack before but then I noticed that it was $35.000. Still not exactly cheap but at least I wouldn't have to sell everything I owned and win the lottery just to buy a copy.

Now this is exciting! I'm guessing either A Drunken Dream and Other Stories did well for them, or they have overflowing love for Moto Hagio. Either of them are good (although both would be better). I hope they will release "A Savage God Reigns" down the line too, but I'll just be patient as they take one step at a time.

Oho, YES! Fantagraphics, I love you! Despite your pretty pricey releases, but that's what the internets is for, eh? It's all cheaper on there!
But after what a gorgeous release A Drunken Dream got, I'm looking forward to more!

I'm not usually a big fan of BL.
I'm going to make an exception for this one.
YOU GO FANTAGRAPHICS!!

For me getting a copy at a local comic shop or bookstore would be cheapest. Still have to get A Drunken Dream even though I liked all the Moto Hagio stuff Viz released back in the day.

Wow with this announcement and the one about the Unico movies, this is shaping up to be an exciting evening
Fantagraphics' release of A Drunken Dream was utterly gorgeous and I can't wait to see what they do with this book!

Great to see a publisher taking on the classics.
I haven't gotten around to picking up A Drunken Dream yet, but can anyone tell me what the paper is like? I think the only books I own from Fantagraphics are their recent first volume of Mickey Mouse strips, which is great, and their big Usagi Yojimbo special edition from last year, which is also great, except that the paper is slick and glossy, which I don't think is really suited to most black and white comics.

Great news! I am so happy! Now I wish they would license Kaze to Ki no Uta by Keiko Takemiya.

I have nearly every Japanese version of Touma no Shinzou available. (Original tankoubon, bunkoban, the hardcover, those special versions where the cover art isn't by Hagio, and the recently released two part set...) I'm ecstatic to be able to add a lovely, hardbound copy in English to my collection.

[expletive] fantastic news! I wonder how many back-flips Matt Thorn did when he got the green light for translating this?

It's of really high quality--certainly superior to all mainstream manga releases here--and no worries, it's not glossy.
