Ha ha every popular gainax girl ever all over kamina. I'm happy Lal'C was there she's one of my favorites. And of course rei,auska and haruko. Though I think it is edited a bit as we expected.

So the recaps were their way of censoring? I couldn't tell any difference between this broadcast and the fansubs that I have, except for Kamina and Simon's asses getting pixelated. I also like the fansub translation of "nudie" better than "naked ape"

Well you must have had the tv version on your fansubs because i'm pretty sure it was censored.

Well, I guess that explains why I could never understand what they were going to censor in episode 6. Anything objectionable was already gone.

From what the ann interview said the japanese network that played TTGL decided to censor it even after approving it before so I suppose we all have to buy the dvd's to get th uncensored version. (Which I plan to do the second a dub comes out
 )

I thought these episodes were pretty good. Sometimes the scenes flash so fast you almost can't catch all the references. :lol: But seriously, can anyone give me a brief explanation of what their mission is since I missed 3 & 4? I gathered that it is to fight the Gunmen and beast men, but is there anything more than that? And if there isn't anything more than that, that's cool too. Oh, and what's this recall point they are talking about, and why do they want to find it? |

Oh, yeah, for those who have only seen the fansubbed version, they edited the hell out of episode 6. No Kamina and Simon being bounced along on a trail of jiggling breasts, and only about two minutes total of the second half of the episode is the same as in the official DVD version. Everything that got edited out would never have meet American broadcast standards, but an unintended victim of all of the chopping is a couple of significant plot points that got taken out in the process, including spoiler[the first mention of the Spiral King] and a scene of spoiler[Simon overhearing Yoko's opinion of him, which later proves to have a decided impact on him.]
Actually, seeing what they did with this episode has convinced me to buy out the series instead of just watching the Sci Fi broadcast. |
