Upon thinking about it Miller's report was nowhere near as bad as the 0083 movie, but still lacked the wonderful treatment that First and Zeta got. I guess that's why I lumped them all into the not so good category, I agree that the Destiny films might be more concise and better than the tv series. They also have a chance to cut out or reanimate all of that stock footage! I've felt the same way about ZZ which had so much more stock than Zeta. If they did a ZZ trilogy they really could skip all those terrible early episodes!

I think I will give the highest praise on the Seed films on this site, and I only bought them for the few new scenes. If you are also one to buy the 0083, or 08th movie (or the Mac Plus, or Blue Gender movies) for the few added shots, you might want to get the Seed films, now that they are affordable. I don't think you will find anyone who likes the films better than the tv series.

The original Gundam movie trilogy comes with an 11-page booklet that pretty much sums up the alterations to the original. The trilogy seems more streamlined, eliminating needless aspects such as the G-Armor and goofy weapons like the hammer. Newtypes are also a more prevalent feature of the story throughout, rather than a late addition in the last few episodes.

There's also some new animation: "New animation footage, personally supervised by character designer Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, adds to the drama and excitement; roughly 30% of the second movie, and 70% of the third, consists of new Yasuhiko-directed animation."

My only gripe is that they skimmed over the Texas Colony stuff and completely eliminated the Gyan from action. I don't remember if Char's Gelgoog is even there. But enough of my obsessive quibbling...

Indeed. Having seen First Gundam TV a number of times I also miss the Ma Kube scenes. Amuro fights Char's Gelgoog after fighting the Gyan. I'm also disappointed that they didn't get Shiozawa back to reprise his role for the 5.1 mix, even though he was still alive when it was remixed. I'm somewhat torn between the original audio and the 5.1 mix. Although the newer mix is technically superior, I watched the original mix so many times that it just feels weird to me. I'm also a fan of the vocals for the trilogy which got more usage in the original mix. It's sad to think they will have to find a new Bright if they ever make the ZZ films.
