Don't really see the point of a BGC movie. It's not even that big in Japan.

Ok, wait so this isn't a Hollywood production?
Never knew that someone was working on a Live-Action Bubblegum Crisis film. When did this happened?!

ANN mentioned some of the past updates in the article. Basically, someone licensed it from AIC, then someoned lined up a coproduction, and now it has a director and looks to be heading into getting made. I'm looking forward to it- more BubbleGum Crisis is always welcome.
Also, wow, nice to see Funimation picked up the license to the TV series- it's a great remake. Animeigo's edition of the OVA is still available too, so if you're unfamiliar with the franchise, be sure to check that out too. Now hopefully Conan will rehire Pierre Bernard for his new show, so Pierre can rage about the new live action version from his recliner.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this, but I won't get my hopes up until a trailer comes out.

Originally Arclightfilms was going to be involved but now I'm wondering if they are out of the agreement. Seems as if the film is being shifted from Australia over to China
I'll be curious to see who actually will start putting up official film information, such as trailers and cast and crew information. I was expecting Arclight, but now, not so sure.

No, but it was a big hit early in anime fandom in the U.S. Usenet groups exploded with discussions on it.
I didn't see it until Encore's Action Channel aired it (dubbed, unfortunately), and it became a favorite of mine.
I don't know what to think of an inexperienced director doing a live-action adaptation of one of my favorite anime. I'm going to brace myself for the worst.
I wish somebody would license the Blu-Ray version of the OVAs.

Yet another live action anime project that will probably never hear another peep from before it dies quietly or sits in pre-production limbo for all eternity..

Like-wise I'll give it a shot before I start to knock it but as a precaution I'll be sure not to get my hopes up.

At least it's someone who seems like he knows what the heck he's doing.
Anything that helps spread the BGC love <3 As long as it's not another DB:E, of course...

Not really interested in the movie. I doubt they can pull off that retrograde look that Crisis copied from Blade Runner so well in the modern era. It'd just look goofy.
Really hoping for some new animated BGC project!

This may actually have a chance because most fans nowadays aren't familiar with the original BGC (or Blade Runner for that matter). It'll just be all-new to them. So they won't have anything to hold them back.

So this is Hollywood basically riding the coattails of Iron Man's success.
But with boobs. Lots of boobs.

Vapors: Actually, BGC is more like Charlie's Angels with iron pumps.

While I expect this to be cheesy as hell, I still can't wait. BGC is an awesome series. I've watched both the OAV and TC series a few times through.
