Read the headline as "Anime News Network to Simulcast Samurai Girls." Needless to say I was shocked to think that ANN would enter the licensing foray.

Looks like Sentai is replacing Media Blasters as the go-to licenser for shows about boobs.

TAN eh? So I can bet it'll be as censored as their HSOD streams.

Even though I was greatly disappointed with HOTD, I'm still super-pumped for the Samurai Girls simulcast, probably because, this time, I have the mindset that it's a show equivalent to Queens Blade.

I saw the preview episode for this and enjoyed it. A little upset that it's TAN simulcasting though. This means first two episodes will be free for everyone and the rest will never come unless you subscribe. Unlike Funi, Hulu, CR (ie everyone else on the planet doing legal simulcast) who just make you wait 0-2 weeks for the free version.

I was afraid this would happen, I was kinda curious about seeing this, too. Might have to go with fansubs and just buy the DVDs whenever that happens.
TAN really needs to get with the program and adopt the same practice that Crunchyroll, FUNimation, and Viz use of making these episodes free with ads and SD quality a week after their Japanese release. This whole "first two episodes free, pay for the rest" structure bugs the hell out of me. I'm really only interested in watching simulcasts (or the week delayed episodes) online, TAN's back catalog doesn't interest me, I'd rather own them on DVD. Crunchyroll offers me more new shows every season for less than TAN's yearly subscription price. Hell, FUNi has a similar sized online library AND more new shows every season and they're completely free (with ads). TAN is just a rip off, hopefully Crunchyroll gets their hands on Samurai Girls as well like they were able to do with Demon King Daimao.

All I have to say about this series is:
Yeah. Because if Japan were still sequestered from the world, they would totally have student councils. 'Cause, you know, those weren't imported from the West or anything.
All I have to say about it being streamed is:
Sucks for people outside of the region, great for people inside it. Have fun, those of you who love this series.

I noticed that as well, but as Brian, Zac and the person who wrote the frequently asked questions, Anime News Network is news site, not a anime licensing company. Something tells me Zac has probably said that at least five times since his stint as Answer man.
But I honestly can't imagine even if ANN licensed anime that you guys would license a show like this. Yet the last name Yagyu sounds familiar, I think a character in Gintama shares the same last name and is indeed a samurai.

I'm 200% sure that they didn't. I don't remember blue light splotches over nudity bits in the available AT-X raws.

Many of the characters in this anime are based on real life historical figures, but gender swapped. This really is the Japanese equivalent to Ikki Tousen.
