I wonder what "special features" it has, since the original was already titled as a "special edition". I guess even more extras? If it does, AND it has dual language feature, I may look into this one, since I've been meaning to pick up the movie eventually... Maybe worth the wait.

YAY! I saw the movie on STARZ a month or two ago (ironically, about a week after I had finished marathoning my CB boxset) and I've been wanting to get it ever since. Not just to complete my collection, but it's really a great film overall.

I doubt they're adding any new features over the original release at such a low price.

With a price of only $15 it should be easy to find this for as low as $10 - $12 at retail, an excellent price for people who want to add this to their collection.

Here's a thought... HOW ABOUT A BLURAY! Seriously, the Bebop movie has been available on bluray forever in Japan, and they should know by now it will sell...

I would agree that maybe Bebop movie should at least make a BD release, the only issue is if they make a transfer to HD quality would it be a bad upscale or if done right look better to fit a BD release.

I haven't seen this in years. Maybe I should dust it off and pop it in. Now's about the right time considering spoiler[the whole Halloween theme the climax has going on...]

The BD from Japan is a true HD transfer from the film source. I've seen screenshots, it looks great.

Oh, Japan... The choices you make often baffle me. You have a stunning BD. I want to buy said stunning BD with awesome DUB. Yet, you don't sell it here. WHY?!

I prefer dubs anyway but come on, why isn't the Japanese audio included? I want to feel like my collection is completed

I'm surprised Bandai didn't get the Cowboy Bebop movie, but I'm glad it will remain available.

Hey at least someone plans on keeping the movie readily available for the fans. Knocking on Heaven's Door was a good movie, even I Would buy it if they had it for Blu-Ray.

Sony still owns the rights to it. Image has a deal with them to release Sony catalog titles, while Sony gets the distribution rights to Image's Criterion line.

I imported it. It looks absolutely stunning, and the fact that Sony has passed the buck on the future of it in the US is saddening. I've been hoping for a BR release in the US ever since the JP version came out. Oh well...

Same here we really need our own BD of the movie, such a great movie too.

I was surprised, I actually thought they were going to announce it around the time they used Xam'd to commemorate the opening of PSN's video store and there were a ton of rumors about it at the time too and with yet another relatively big title to push on Blu-ray at the time in yet another popular media type as an anime film, but then it just never happened.

Hopefully we'll get one eventually since the materials are already ready since it's been on BD in Japan for so long already, and at least there's another company pursuing it enough to keep the movie in print, maybe they'll eventually...

At the latest I've got to imagine that if the live action movie were to ever get made SOMEONE would pony up the cash to do a BD of the animated movie to cash in.

*sigh* This so deserves a US blu-ray.
