Gosh, I wonder if an American licensor like Viz is considering licensing the anime?
Also: obligatory hooray for incoming season two (and possibly a third? ).

The article didn't mention a season two, did it?
Anyway, I'm not surprised at the success of Kimi ni Todoke. Although I haven't read the Manga, if the Anime is anything to go by it is a sweet romance between two loveable characters. A simple formula, but it works, and good on it.

No it didn't, but I'd put money on the previous announcement being in reference to a full second season. Should've qualified my statement, but my enthusiasm prevented that.

Or not. See, I'd actually want to be able to watch the whole show if it were to be released on DVD, but if Viz gets it, well, I'll never be able to because they'll probably cancel it after the first volume (of a probable 6 volume release).
As weary as I am to say it because the likelihood of a dub is 50/50, I'd rather Section 23 (who has the streaming rights) release it on DVD.

Heh, well I'm still willing to give Viz the benefit of the doubt, as my consuming experience with them has been positive (they managed to push all of Death Note out).
I didn't realize S23 had streaming rights. KnT might be a bit of a reach for them financially though, no? Having said that, I personally wouldn't mind a dubless release if it came down to that, since the show had some great Japanese talent.

People (particularly Japan) love stagnant relationships.
I do not know why.

Nah, people (or authors?) like relationships without closure, as it gives a property an excuse to extend its lifespan... which ironically manifests as stagnancy, I suppose.
But yeah, I don't know why either. KnT nevertheless keeps me entertained.

Death Note is a money maker, of course they finished it AND even rereleased it. However the people who bought Monster, Zatch Bell, Full Moon, Hikaru no Go, Prince of Tennis, etcetera (the list is quite long) aren't happy with Viz. Even though I personally have never been burned by Viz, I can't say I'm a fan of how they do business when I know of their reputation.

I don't see anything about that ... what do they call the show on their site?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan either, but they've delivered me complete product in the past and so I'll proceed on the assumption they do so again should Kimi ni Todoke get picked up by them, since it seems like it too would be a money maker.

At first I thought I was going crazy, but I have found my error! I got Kimi ni Todoke mixed up with Kaicho wa Maid-sama. They both start with K and have six syllables, it happens.

I'll add my "get Kimi ni Todoke licensed in R1" vibes to the ether. Love the show. My preference of distribs would be Funi, Sentai or Nozomi, in that order. All other distribs suck major donkey dong in one way or another.

I'm not a fan either I probably won't be until they learn to re release their stuff in classic collections like Ceres, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku etc..... or man up and release the entire series they license whether they make money off it or not cause there is no point in wasting your money on a series your are not going to finish dubbing/releasing on DVD and whatnot.
As for Kimi ni Todoke I would like to see it licensed by Funi or maybe if we are lucky enough section 23 might dub it like they did with Clannad.
