Uooooah. Looks like 4Kids is in trouble. I'm no economist, but it sounds bad that 4Kids is getting de-listed from the NYSE.
Blockbuster...meh. Netflix is better anyway.

It basically is implying that these two companies are no longer financially stable and ready to go belly up or file for bankruptcy any day now.

I don't rent movies, but there are some people who do go to Blockbuster. There is nothing wrong with going to a brick and mortar place. At least it gets a person out of the house, there is nothing wrong with that.
As for 4Kids, I think they should just close. They're done. There is nothing else for them.

I'm surprised Blockbuster wasn't de-listed sooner. When's the last time they were considered profitable?

Their saturday morning programming block is draining them [4Kids] dry like a hungry metroid.
There's no more money to be had on saturday mornings.
If Mister Khan would realize that and got to CN, Disney XD & Nick/Nicktoons, his little company would be set.
But after what said company did to One Piece (and many other imports), I can't help but sit back and watch karma do its thing.

Being delisted from the NYSE isn't really the most accurate indication of whether or not a company files for bankruptcy. A company is listed on the NYSE given said company meets the requirements put forth by them(NYSE), being delisted just means the company didn't meet one or possibly more of the requirements, but before that the NYSE gives plenty of chances for a company to correct things.
Company's are delisted all the time and still continue to operate, there are other exchanges the stock could and/or would be traded on, or they could just go private that's always seemed to work for Chrysler. While its obvious 4kids isn't doing nearly as well as they have in their prime they appear to be at least stable enough to avoid bankruptcy. Blockbuster on the other hand?.....

I say the sooner the better. Hopefully the anime they ruined can get rescued by decent co like VIz Media. they would be a perfect fit to license shaman king as well as take over the yugioh series (even though i think 4kids did ok with the yugioh series so far ) ,alongs as they dont give it the blue dragon treatment and listen to fans and keep everything exact like the original. Except for how the cards themselves look like. they should keep that 4kids edit intact instead of those small wiritngs.

I'm only interested in renting movies and games on physical media from a bricks-and-mortar retail location, so it'll be a sad day for me when Blockbuster goes out of business.
There are a couple of more chain video rental stores near my local Blockbuster (Merivale Road, Nepean), but I quite honestly like Blockbuster best out of the 3.

I no longer to go my local blockbuster as of Fall 2009. I dislike how they never have the sequals of horror films I wanted to rent and they miscategoried some non-anime in the anime selection.
I would love to get a Netflix account, but as of right now I'm only renting from what PS3's virtual rental store has to offer.
But it's no surprised for 4Kids to be delisted from the Stock Exchange.

[Sarcasm] Yeah, how dare they pay the Japanese who created an anime for the right to legally distribute it in a way that might or might not be profitable for everyone who took a financial risk on it. Anime should remain obscure and enjoyed only by creeps savvy enough to pirate online. Burn in hell, Evil Lice-In-Sore! [/Sarcasm]
I never really got the hatred leveled at 4kids, but maybe I'm just too old.
I recall studying business in school in the 90's and participating in a class discussion about the possible future downfall of Blockbuster due to the move to digital. It feels weird to see it actually playing out.

Then you must not like it when companies bring anime to the West. You may not agree with their policies or what have you, but if you want the industry to be fruitful and plentiful, then you want as many players in the market as you can get.
