Honestly.. I think the delay is due more to the streaming side of things than the actual episode itself.. this is the most popular anime of 2009 in japan.. it's going to get absolutely hammered.

Well true how many people alone inside of Japan would be checking out the stream let alone any other fans from outside the country?
They must be beefing up there servers or making sure the site can handle in the inflow of people.

Episode 13
Ah sweet, sweet Bakemonogatari...that's the stuff. Warning: for you lightweights who get all snotty when there's all that "talking" stuff and not enough happens for you - get ready to cry. For the rest of us sophistos, there is more than enough to savour. I loved Araragi's encounter with Mayoi right off the top. "Why didn't you tell me that right away?" "Because some pedo groped me and I forgot." Ha ha, good stuff.
And the ending definitely left me jonesing for the next episode. Very heinous given we don't (I think) know when the next one is coming out.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am not gonna lie, that felt good and with this episode new life is breathed into this thread!
I am not gonna complain about quality, because if it is a good story you should not care right?
I really like Hanekawa and Mayoi is really funny. Araragi was definitely in euphoria from the last episode, and god bless Meme, the man with all the answers.
I mean if he weren't there, where would they be? Joking. Meme is hardly the linchpin of the series.
Deservedly

I enjoyed the new episode, kind of worth the wait I think
So you guys notice the ending animation changed? Doodles of all the characters are now in the ending song. Which I think is a nice touch, I mean it's interesting at least.

It wasn't the quality that was bad, it was that Shaft released it as a 640×360 365mb flash file. That's 1/10 of my screen's area. It can only look so good. Apparently they don't know how to encode?
That said, Bakemonogatori is my crack. That was 24 minutes of awesome, and I'm already going into withdrawal. I found that radio program bit absolutely hilarious. And oh my god is Tsubasa hot when she lets loose a little.

Well January and February next year are the DVD releases for the arc so hang in there a little longer for blueray copys.
I didn't think the screen size was that big a problem for me (then again my computer screen is fairly small)
So any one hope part 4 is released before the end of the year?

Great ep, though I do worry about Koyomi, does he feel just because Mayoi is dead it is alright to feel up her child like body. But then her spazing was awesome also. It seems that the places Tsubasa mention she had headaches, are probably places that cause her stress (school, librarey and around Koyomi). Did anyone else think it strange about Tsubasa's clothing, it was quite simular to Nadeko's with the hat and jacket (shirt) over shoulders. And of course the ears, plus it seems that neko Tsubasa has already become an avatar here.
I have a feeling this series keeps aluding to Shinbou taking part, yet hasn't quite had her, maybe she is getting a bigger part soon. There is some mystery around there which will hopefully be explained before the end of the series.

Ep 13 didn't disappoint.
Senjogahara Fascination rules, of course, but the Araragi/Hanekawa relationship was established first, and it was great to see the two have one of Bakemonogatari's (in?)famous Long Conversations(tm), at the same park that Hitagi went to no less.
Speaking of that, at first I was kinda wondering about Hanekawa's foray into the difficult-to-understand letters from the late night radio show she listened into (partly because I didn't exactly get all the jokes), but after a little while I found myself agreeing with Nisioisin's writing there. It showed Hanekawa being a little evasive on the subject of her cat ears, sure, but maybe it also showed us the kind of relationship Tsubasa wants to have or wishes she had with Araragi -- not "all business", "all advice", one-sided like we've pretty much seen over the series, cat burial aside. And who knew, Araragi has a talent for decoding the letters! A nice reversal from Hanekawa having to supply all the answers, even if she might have just been dodging her oddity problem and knew the answers all along. It was a strange moment of "normalcy" for skipping school and meeting up with someone in broad daylight in pajamas.
IMHO, by now it's fairly obvious that Araragi's more than a little dense with respect to understanding/navigating his friendship with Hanekawa. Then there's Hanekawa's indirectly leaving zero doubt as to who's to "blame" for her current problem. So yeah, Araragi's character doesn't break any new ground in that sense...he's ignorant, part of the problem, been there, done that. On the other hand, Araragi would go to extremes to help Hanekawa (probably even without the "debt" he thinks he owes her), and Araragi has been shown, in my opinion, to have higher-than-average "emotional intelligence" (for lack of better term at the moment) relative to his "peer group" of teenage-ish male protagonists, despite all of his [EDIT:socially unacceptable/creepy/amusing/sometimes all of the above] flaws. I'm hopeful the final resolution of this arc will take advantage of these aspects of Araragi's character so we can get a fresh, more in-depth take on how it's gonna be for someone who's "doomed" to take "second place" to a certain stapler-wielding neo-tsundere.
Looking forward to seeing what ep 14 brings. Hopefully we won't be waiting much more than a month.

Amusing flaws such as attacking and groping dead prepubescent girls? I've got to say, I've rarely been so horrified - and yet, at the same time so very amused - by the actions of an Anime character. What was he thinking? And asking Hanekawa to give him her pyjama shirt was pretty funny too. Hopefully his unexpected sweetness towards Hitagi will stop her from burying him alive once she finds out he A): lied to her about where he was going, and B): whom he actually was with.
This was Bakemonogatari in usual gear. Huge long conversations that may or may not have deeper or hidden meanings. Koyomi being both very perverted and yet very sincere in his desire to help yet another girl. Said girl underdressed. Hitagi making but a small appearance. Meme being rather scary in his piercing gazes. Japanese puns galore.
And you know what? I don't care. Another top-notch episode. But, I too am worried that the next episode will take ages to be made. Hmm.

Actualy I belive the pun when he was asking if he could haver her shirt was a long the lines that someone would take another's coat. He was calling her "sama" which is what people say to someone of high class and he was jokeing about the fact she was wearing a shirt over her pyjamas like a coat.
Though I wonder if Hitagi actualy knows where Koyomi is, it seems that Hitagi knows that Tsubasa was not going to school or would cover for her and she knew Koyomi sudenly had to leave.
And I am taken a back a little bit when he said that his debt to her was more important than his friendship. I seem to remember Kouhei from Moonphase saying something, and they are same seiyu, though Hitagi is actualy the seiyu of Hazuki.

It will be interesting too see what people think of the Araragi/Hanekawa relationship once they see the 2 prequel stories, Koyomi Vamp/Kizu and Tsubasa's Golden Week (novel for this comes out in 2010) with them mainly featured. Hitagi was right to be wary of Tsubasa and make her move quick, I think Araragi/Hanekawa was a matter of when not if with Araragi being dense (look what Hitagi had to do for him to realize lol) and Hanekawa taking things slowly but Hitagi threw a spanner into that... which stressed her out and hello Cat!

I think they know how to encode themselves to massive bluray/dvd sales lol ;)

I don't expect any major fallout from Araragi's not being 100% upfront with Hitagi. She "tested" Araragi with the "piercing stare" and he didn't budge. So she knew his intentions were good, which was most important. I don't think we'll have a "10,000 deaths" or whatever situation this time around.
As for the issue of Araragi putting debt over friendship, I just saw that as a ploy to get past Hanekawa's defensiveness. He did "say" in the ep 11 screen flashes how important she was to him. I could be wrong, but I just think he was "ready" to "sacrifice" his friendship precisely _because_ he cares. Nothing to look too much into at this point.
Yui Horie's more recent VA roles are the perfect setup for Hanekawa role. Shikabane Hime + Toradora! = why bother auditioning anyone else?

I'm not sure why this hadn't occurred to me before, but if Tsubasa's "nekko-ness" has returned, does this not represent the first time an oddity has not been able to be permanently cured? I'm still a little confused as to what happened during "Golden Week" but wasn't the idea that Tsubasa's oddity had already been dealt with - yet now it's back. Interesting. I loved Meme's comment that the "sex cat" was waking up. I think this new side of Tsubasa's repressed personality is going to be tons o' fun.

Actually, I want to say Nadeko is the only one who seems to have fully recovered so far.
