Wait so that means there are three movies. One is a compilation and two are sequels?

Hey thats great. That means those two other movies are definely sequels and not some crappy re-cap.

Very cool. Pity that there is almost no chance of these flicks playing on the big screen in Toronto.

Didn’t know Eden TV series was only 11 episodes long. Can I ask without too much spoilers if the end feels rushed or if it’s an “open ended” story?

I smell a 3 movie blu-ray box set priced at $300 in the future...
I might have to buy that

The celebration is when they announce they have the entire series including now 3 movies imo.

I agree it's smart to have a compilation theatrical before the final 2.

A fantastic anime, hope the US license will include the Oasis opening song. The ED was very creative with the paper stop-animation
Overall one of my favorite animes for 2009
I shiver to think of the english VA.. I just can't handle dubs

Glad to hear it's not going to be just one clip show and one real movie.

It's like they reached a "pause" point in the story. The last episode is wildly climactic, but there's still a lot left to be told. It felt (to me) like a natural moment to make the break if they were going to, but there's definitely room for at least two movies' worth of story left.
Here's crossing my fingers that this gets the best release possible, TV series, opening song, and movies combined. It was a great show and really deserves it.

It's definitely good to have confirmation that the two other movies will be new material, though we were fairly certain they would be new beforehand, given that the series didn't have a true end to the story.
And I agree, it is very smart for them to release this compilation before the new films, both for those who watched the anime and for those who didn't, so they can get up to speed before the continuation starts. And since the series was only 11 episodes, a compilation might work well since most of the major plot points should be left intact.

Seems like this confirms that the two films will be all-new material. Yay!
Eden of the East was my favorite series of the spring season (not that there weren't some other good shows airing); this increases my anticipation for the movies even more.

Ah good, so movies are new material that are continuations then! I always felt the concept wasn't taken as far as it could've been. Perhaps they did whatever they could within the restraints of the TV show and the movies will take the possibilities to ridiculous new levels!

Awesome, tons more Eden yet to come then. Though I really wonder why they decided to split the story across two formats like this.
