Samuel L. Jackson is in this. It's getting more interesting now.

How the company responsible for this movie managed to get Samuel L. Jackson is slightly impressive.
But even with Samuel L. Jackson, this doesn't guarentee the movie won't be bad.

It's definitely an income gurarantee imo.
People are going to be curious enough to see it for Jackson's cameo and the infamous weapon (butt cannons).

It'll be interesting to see how the CG adaptions of animes do over the Live Action Adaptions. Given the medium they should have better turn outs because it sets up and leaves a different impression then cheesy/campy looking live action adaptions. Of course other non-Pixar studios have proven that just being in CG isn't enough to win fans and/or critics over.
Sam Jackson will at the least get a few more people interested in the film. Hopefully the rest of the movie is good enough to hook them in like Afro Samurai did. Right now anime adaptions don't need something great, (although it's still welcome) they just need something good.

I think Samuel L. Jackson is a secret otaku. Give 'em a few years and he'll be just like Vic Mignogna, in everything.
Note: I like Vic and that's not a shot at him.

Except, you know, with talent.
I am sick and tired of all these mother****ing cameos in my mother****ing movies! I hope he gets eaten by a robotic shark in this.

Charlize Theron now too. It's nice to see Hollywood taking an interest in this film.

Hmm... clearly this movie rebounded from the financial difficulties it was having earlier this year, if they got two big names. Samuel L. Jackson's a pretty good voice actor, but with a cameo appearance, you know they probably got him just for the press it would generate.
Will this movie be any good? I still hold out hope. Did SDCC have any new footage? I want to know whether Astro ever ditches the shirt and adopts the classic costume. It's a relatively minor thing, but fans will complain to no end about it if they don't. Personally, I don't care about details, I just want it to stay true to the spirit of the manga.
