I hope I am asking this in the right place. What I was asking is I am quit disappointed about JapanAnime. They release awsome titles like Dark Chapel, Taboo Charming Mother and some other more with no english dub. Second, they release every episode in single DVD and not only that they also release every episode after few years.

Why can't they do like Kitty Media and Critecal Mass? What will happen if they Dub the series?

Despite my disliking of the licensing/distribution model, I do have to give some sympathy for folks trying to run a business.

With that, let me ask you a question: How do you cater to every fan by trying to release a product for every type of fan?

No dub? Those who want it faster are happy, but those who want dub only aren't.

Dub? Those who want it faster aren't happy, but those who want dub are.

Singles? Yes! I can get 4 episodes today!
Box Sets? Damn, I gotta wait for licensing to release all the episodes.

It's not easy for them, to say the least. As a fan, you need to acknowledge this and make choices as well. You can't get it all at once with the current system in use.

Something I'm doing while waiting for the dub version of Clannad. Not easy, but necessary for the distributor to meet my need.

Roll with the punches and hope for better change in the future.

He's talking about hentai titles, though, which is an entirely different situation.

A lot of it probably has to do with the way the titles are originally released in Japan. Single-episode hentai releases to DVD are more the norm than the exception, so in many cases the licensing company may not have much choice about it.

And honestly, I don't think you're missing much by not having dubs on hentai titles. They're the only type of anime where I will automatically flip to the subs because the dubs typically either scrape the bottom of the talent pool or else bring in porn actors, who know all about faking orgasms but not so much about actual voice acting. Only on a couple of occasions have I found hentai dubs that I even consider passable, and I'm normally a dub fan.

Hentai dubs are notoriously bad, and should only be watched for comedic purposes with friends, booze, and plenty of women around. I think I've only ever heard one decent one, and I can't remember the title. Bondage Mansion or something? I generally despise hentai releases anyway, they only serve one purpose: to decensor the naughty bits. Otherwise, oooh big deal, they got some random porn star, who guess what, can't act. They're a porn star for a reason.

And then yeah, you have the issue of each disc with only one episode and set for the same price the Japanese would pay. This is most likely to completely negate the slightest idea of a Japanese reverse importing. But were I Japanese, I'd do it anyway. Buying hentai a ripoff on both sides of the Pacific, I think the only reasonable deal I've ever seen was Sex Warrior Pudding for like $12.99, but even then, it's only three episodes, subbed only. But as I said, not having the dub is probably a good thing. I think the only hentai titles I'd actually want to own on DVD are Angel Blade, Another Lady Innocent, or the one previously mentioned, but I'm not paying a premium for it, just like how I deal with buying anime.

I guess I don't really have any opinion on JapanAnime specifically, all the hentai licensors seem the same to me, and still haven't grabbed some of the best titles out there.

This is another point I forgot to mention, thanks. The licensors tend to change the names of shows completely, not even translating them. Ala KGNE turning into Rumbling Hearts. The original title was Famiresu (Family Restaurant) Senshi Pudding. Sometimes it gets really confusing if you knew the title of one and try to look it up, and get something completely different.

Belive me, I've seen worse. While I've only watched Futari Ecchi (which isn't a H title by any means), I've read some doujin and manga that were way over the top.

I've never bought anything from JapanAnime, so I don't have an opinion on them specifically. Like others have said, most hentai dubs are lousy anyway, so there's not much of a loss. Although some are funny, and not just unintentionally. Duchess of Busty Mounds, for one.

I'd wager that virtually all R2J hentai releases are single-episode DVDs, much like any non-adult OVAs are released there. Except hentai tend to go for $60-70 per ep, more than standard OVAs. So even at $20 or $30 for a single-ep JapanAnime disc, it's not paying the same price as the Japanese.

In Funimation's defense, that was the Japanese licensor's decision to do the "Rumbling Hearts" rename. And really, most hentai re-titlings make sense. They're trying to sell to mainstream porn consumers, not just the anime fandom. And for those purposes, titles like Immorality and Slutty Princess Diaries are more marketable than "Equation of Immorality" and "Princess Humiliation - Double Princess Hunting." And going beyond JapanAnime releases, who would remember a title called "Rhythmic Gymnastics (Assumed)"

Just so you know, the link to the site of Princess Diaries is dead. Replaced is a advertising link. Hopefully that helped, but yeah I am more of a manga fan (provided the females are adults and aren't being forced.)
