Ok so I've tallied up all the votes and they look like this (JesuOtaku beat me to it (thanks for the help dude!), I was gathering facts, sorry for taking so long guys!):
Gunslinger Girl: 32 NieA_7: 32 Gankutsou: 31 Princess Tutu - 29 PlanetES: 24 Last Exile: 22 RahXephon: 20 Paranoia Agent: 16 Mushi-Shi- 15 Ergo Proxy: 7 Some random facts: NieA_7 got 18 points in the last 8 votes. The allocation of the one & two points could've given us a clear winner... except it didn't ![]() Most amount of 3 points: Gunslinger Girl, NieA_7 & Gankutsuou @ 7 each. Least amount of 3 points: PlanetES @ 1 Most amount of 2 points: PlanetES @ 6 Least amount of 2 points: Ergo Proxy @ 1 Most amount of 1 points: PlanetES @ 9 Least amount of 1 points: Gankutsuou at NONE Least voted for: Ergo Proxy, which was only voted for by 4 people. Most voted for: PlanetES, which was voted for by 16 different users. NOW to decide a winner, simply post which anime you want to vote for, you may only vote for ONE anime. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your vote private you may PM it to me, and I will post all PMs in the thread when the voting is over so that everyone can see them and you can verify their accuracy. In case of a tie, out of the series involved in the tie breaker the winner will be allocated to the anime that received the most amount of people voting for it in the initial voting thread. Gunslinger Girl: 14 NieA_7: 13 Gankutsuou: 12 Princess Tutu: 15 PlanetES: 16 SO for the FINAL FIVE we have (copied & pasted for efficiency): Gunslinger Girl ![]() By MADHOUSE Ltd. Number of episodes: 13 Plot Summary: "Henrietta" was an innocent little girl when her entire family was massacred and she was left for dead. She was rescued by a privately-owned social welfare organization and given cybernetic components over her battered body. Brainwashed by the organization, she and four other girls now work as cold-blooded assassins, doing the dirty work for the Italian government. NieA_7 ![]() By Yoshitoshi ABe (and staff) Number of episodes: 13 Plot Summary: In the 21st century, aliens have arrived on Earth and live among humans. In sleepy Enohana, the dirt-poor student Chigasaki Mayuko finds herself living together with NieA, a low-caste ("Under Seven") alien. While Mayuko struggles diligently to make ends meet, NieA seems to be totally unconcerned with the consequences of her actions. As the odd couple throws off the expected sparks, the wrecked alien mothership looms in the background... Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo ![]() By Gonzo Number of episodes: 24 Plot Summary: Trying to escape his uneventful life, Albert, the son of a renowned general from Paris, makes a journey with his friend Franz. During his travels, he meets an immensely wealthy nobleman named The Count of Monte Cristo. Living in luxurious hotels, surrounded by beautiful women and strong bodyguards, the charming but enigmatic count fascinates Albert. Albert invites the count to join the high society of Paris. However, unknown to Albert, his father had once framed the count and took the Count's fiancee as his own. Princess Tutu ![]() By Hal Film Maker Number of episodes: 26 Plot Summary: 13-year-old ballet student Ahiru is clumsy, good-hearted and sweet... and has a big secret. The mysterious Drosselmayer morphed a young duck into a girl to give her a mission: help a Prince to get the parts of his heart back. With that in mind, she morphs into Princess Tutu, whose magical dances ease the pain and purifies the bad feelings. PlanetES ![]() By Sunrise Inc. Number of episodes: 26 Plot Summary: In the year 2075, mankind has reached a point where journeying between Earth, the moon and the space stations is part of daily life. However, the progression of technology in space has also resulted in the problem of the space debris, which can cause excessive and even catastrophic damage to spacecrafts and equipment. This is the story of Technora's Debris Collecting section, its EVA worker, Hachirota "Hachimaki" Hoshino, and the newcomer to the group, Ai Tanabe. All were very close in points. Planetes is in there because it had the most amount of users voting for it. You have till SUNDAY, MAY 24 at 22:00 EST (US & Canada, GMT -05:00) to cast your votes. The winner will be announced shortly after. And please, HAVE FUN! Last edited by EvanUnisil on Fri May 22, 2009 10:24 pm; edited 6 times in total |

Last night, Henrietta made an offer I simply couldn't refuse. No way I'm going through that again. Dodging bullets should be an Olympic sport.

Oh good, they're all series I haven't watched yet. This means the regardless of how this turns out it should at least be something fun and new.
I guess I'll just stick to what I did in the first round of voting and cast my vote for Gankutsou. Seems like an interesting enough series, so why not? |

NieA_7
And I'm proud of everyone who brought it up to tie for the win in the original thread. After the first few pages things were looking pretty bleak... |

I'm glad I suggested NieA_7 a while ago. I would've voted, but my schoolwork in the last few days has been such a bitch, for lack of better words.

Put me down for NieA_7. Always room to discuss an ABe series.

Now that I know Il Teatrino's coming in August, I'm more interested in watching the first series again...but, I'm still voting for Niea_7. It's just been awhile since I've watched a good ol' ABe series.
Pity about Paranoia Agent, I guess Satoshi Kon will just have to wait...on the other hand, I haven't watched Paprika a second time yet either. ![]() |

Still sticking with Gunslinger Girl due to easy accessibility of the title in my collection.

My vote goes to PlanetES. Been meaning to watch it forever, now I'll actually have some motivation.

PlanetES.
Though I own PlanetES, Princess Tutu just seems too outside my tastes, and Gunslinger Girl seems too sad (as well as having a premise which is kind of dodgy). PlanetES is the best of the rest. Yep, I happily place the faithful science, strong themes and engrossing characters present in PlanetES above what is essentially a (beautifully animated and scored) revenge plot in Gankutsuou.
But that spoiler[kills] you as well, and only works once. You can't get all of us . . . can you? . . . Dum dum dum . . . . . . |

I'll pick Planetes, as well as pose a question. Why is everybody writing PlanetES? The encyclopedia entry clearly says Planetes and all of the DVD covers are in all caps (PLANETES).
