Yea, I wasn't particularly looking forward to finding out what Momo's up to either, but I did like getting to see it, though. I wasn't expecting her to be that damaged. She looked pretty darn crazy.
So far (only about half way in), there haven't been any epic moments like last volume but I truly did want to see what everyone else was up to after last volume being almost exclusively Ichigo. It has been jumping around, but to me it seems the main focus has been Orihime, which is nice since she hasn't been the main focus in a while. What this volume does right in regards to training is that it keeps it somewhat in the background (for the most part). Aside from the Uryu chapter, most other scenes of training are just short scenes while other conversations are going on, etc. It would be too much to go into detail for each character's training. Uryu's really did deserve at least the one chapter because it was a pretty big thing that needed to be shown, I'd say.
Also, I LOVE the Arrancars' names. Kubo's a great namer of things.

C'mon Viz, give this a Naruto-style acceleration. I know you can!

Hinamori was actually my favorite character in the Rescue Rukia arc. Anime smile + sweatdrop I'd kill for her to get more plot development.

Considering Adult Swim will now be showing 2 new episodes of the anime every week (meaning the English anime will be catching up to the English manga soon), I'm actually expecting Viz to do just that.

I would like One Piece, Bleach, and Case Closed to get an acceleration. I'm not a fan of One Piece, but I do believe this series needs to be accelerated, fans can't wait forever! Same thing with me and Bleach & Case Closed. I say at least just release one volume every month so at least you could get 12 volumes in a single year which would be a nice acceleration even if it doesn't bring you up to the current number.

On the topic of this book, I don't agree with this review on it. They said there is no way to make the explanatory dialogue interesting, but I found it interesting and useful. You just can't expect every volume to blow you away, otherwise you end up getting disappointed. I would average this book about a B-/

It's so sad to see a once great series go downhill like this, when I read the latest chapter I felt like puking...

As far as I know, Bleach is currently Viz's second most popular series, after Naruto, so if they were to do a manga catch-up for any other of their series, it would be Bleach.

One Piece is not popular in North America, so I doubt they'd do a catch-up with that, though I'd really love it if they did.

Oh, and of course I'd support a Bleach acceleration all the way. Very Happy

Depends on what you think qualifies as popular. I'd say that being in the top 15 manga properties counts as popular(yeah, I know the link's a little dated). But yeah, I'd be satisfied if Viz released a volume of One Piece every 3 months, instead of their current every 4 months.

As for Bleach, I've only read until vol. 24 so far, but it seems like what I've heard about Kubo losing it seems to be somewhat true. Hope it picks up in vol. 25.

I don't know how much popularity influences Viz's decisions in some cases. I love Gintama and 20th Century Boys, but they're hardly top-sellers here in North America as far as I know, yet Viz currently has them on a bi-monthly schedule (which I am extremely thankful for, good job Viz! Very Happy ). So considering that, it is a tad ridiculous that OP only gets released every four months. Luckily, Funimation is speeding up the DVD releases, and will probably pass Viz' current spot soon.

You and me both. Crying or Very sad If the story would fast forward quicker I think One Piece's popularity would shoot up! If only everyone could see the CP9 arc...

I would like One Piece (and a few others) to be accelerated as well, but it just doesn't seem likely. I would expect it for Bleach since it's pretty much the second best selling Jump manga. One Piece actually sells pretty well, just nowhere near the level of Naruto. Although, I could see them skipping to the Water 7 arc in Shonen Jump and releasing the Skypiea arc (regularly, not Naruto style) separately.

Neither do I.Sure there's still some flaws but it's kinda obivious that orihime & her powers was the main focus of the volume and will be for the rest of the arc.

Also i'd expected momo to be damaged goods, but not THAT damaged. When it comes to evil, that guy put naraku to shame and he was as nasty as they has come, which makes it interesting. and it was really funny at times seeing ichigo getting kicked by a little girl again for his training, but this one has a bigger temper than karin.Definately a riot. Either way it was a good read though vol 27 is more interesting. I would give it a B and a high recomendation for people who have been reading it up to now and a must have for all bleach & shouen jump fans alike.

this review is pretty much right on the money; this is where Bleach begins to be a bit of a bore with cheap plot advancement, mediocre battles, and some of the most snore-worthy antagonists in history with the exception of Grimmjow. It's definitely not as bad as many series, but quite frankly only the most dedicated fan will allow a LOT of this stuff to slide. Hopefully Kubo actually gets his act together 'because I have officially given up on Aizen's posse being interesting.

I must say I lost interest in Bleach after Soul Society story arc. I loved Bleach but after they returned to the normal world, everything just started to be too ridiculous for me to continue..

Well i wouldn't say that. We've yet to see Aizen's Bankai and it really intrigued on what it is. Thoygh what you say about his men are true there are some good ones. Grimmjow Jeager Jacques is 3,Uligorria is 2 and of course 1 is the Mini version of Nell who puts obsession to new hights. Will be a riot when they meet Mini Nell.

But the main version for this vol & part of of the arc is Orihime of coruse which will please fans of her greately. In a way it's similar to the Beetle story that was part of the Naruto filler where that story was focus on hinata who is similar to her personality in a way, besides that fact that in the anime version the same VA plays them both. and if you put it like that it ain't that bad in a way. Sure it'll draw away core action buffers but it'll at least please fans of that character who's getting the spotlight. At least until the Hueco Mundo invasion arc begins.

I seem to be the only one who enjoyed the Vizard/Hueco Mundo arc more than the Soul Society story. Maybe it's because I don't really care about shinigami, but I found the vizards, the arrancar and the battles more fun than anything in Soul Society... at least until the shinigami arrived in Hueco Mundo and stole the spotlight for an entire year from the characters I'm interested in (though at least gave it me one interesting battle).

(And just when that one year was over and I started to enjoy Bleach again with the most recent story, there came the latest chapter (353) that was so incredibly bad and stupid that it almost killed Bleach for me. I give it one more chapter to redeem itself but if it doesn't happen then Bleach will go on the ignore list.)
