I was wondering if anyone knew if the remaining episodes of Naruto were going to air on Cartoon Network? CN has already aired over 200 episodes, and it would be a shame if they did not at least finish the initial run.

According to cartoonnetwork.com, Naruto is no longer on the schedule. I am aware the Naruto 1 and 2 are available for view on this website, but I just wanted to know if CN dropped Naruto, even though it was close to conclusion. Was it a ratings issue, licensing, scheduling conflicts? Anyone know?

It's not really sure at this point. Ever since Toonami went away (RIP), they shuffled Naruto around like crazy. If I had to guess, they're not in a hurry to air the final episodes for a while now, because they're waiting to get some Shippuden episodes so that they can air that right after finishing with Part 1.

Ever since Toonami went away (I grew up with this, rest in peace), I really don't think CN is in any hurry.

It's a real shame though, Cartoon Network used to be one of the coolest places to watch t.v. Looks like that era has finally done though. But in all seriousness, there really isn't a way to accurately tell. Could be next week or could be next year, no telling whatsoever.

They never shuffled it around, they kept it in the same slot but constantly pre-empted it for movies, and the last few weeks for reruns of itself. Kind of like what happened to Futurama those years on Fox.

But yeah. I've never seen the logic in the people who insisted CN hated anime, but it does seem like the pendulum is swinging back to stuff they control a bigger piece of. And with the anime community being all over streaming as the wave of the future, they're probably not seeing great payoffs either.

Whatever the reason is, they have 11 episodes left to go before Part 1 ends. Just last week, the episode I watched I hoped would be 210. It was instead of one the episodes where Naruto first meets Jiraiya. Kyle Hebert said in a YouTube video of a panel he and Derek Stephen Prince were that he just recorded Kiba's Shippuden debut. This means they are now into/close the dubbing of season 3 of Shippuden.
