I used to watch anime on Cartoon's network Adult Swim religiously. When they stopped playing anime lately I was so disappointed. Then I heard of Anime Network, so I called my cable people. They said all I need to do is upgrade to digital cable and pay 6.95 a month. I signed up so quickly. Now I watch anime everyday, whenever I want. Since anime network is like a DVD collection. You just click whatever you want to watch. Anyway I can't believe I didn't get it sooner. But I admit for the last few weeks I don't know what else is on tv since I only watch anime now.

You could have also watched everything Anime Network has online on their website and paid nothing.

Adult Swim hasn't totally dropped anime, just dumped it all to a block on Saturday nights starting at 1am. Though with the way things have been going I think Bleach is the only show that'll stick around. I don't really see them picking up anything new for a while, if at all.

Had that for about a year a while ago but they went for months without any updates whatsoever so I canceled my subscription, perhaps they've improved.

I still watch the Adult Swim anime block. Sure it's smaller than it use to be, but it's still got some good stuff airing. They run Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Ghost in the Shell, Shin Chan, Death Note, ext. I tend to not complain about how small the block has become. I'm just happy that they at least show some anime. It's a rare and often risky thing for a network to do that, and I respect AS and Sci-fi for doing it.

I still watch [as] (Bleach, Code Geass, and man I wish they'd bring back Moribito!). I also watch SciFi when they have something good. I was glad when they started showing anime too.
I think my cable provider is about to have AnimeNetwork On Demand. I need to do some research to see if it's worth paying extra for. I'm already paying for HD cable, DVR, HBO, and Showtime. >.<

If you're bored you could always watch what ANN has on their video streaming service. They just got a schload of series licensed for all of the loyal followers of this website. Maybe you could do the same.

Cable On Demand has plenty of good shows to watch. AnimeNetwork On Demand is ok, but is kinda slow in releasing available episodes. Anime Selects on the other hand, bombards you with new episodes. It makes it kinda hard to keep up but is a great place to watch some good TV series. IFC On Demand also plays one or two different shows. They just got done playing Hell Girl, and is towards the end of Witchblade. Adult Swim has it's own On Demand channel as well, but plays the shows we probably all seen 15 times.

Thanks for the information. Would you happen to know if these are subscription or pay as you watch?

I know with Comcast (which is what I have), and I'm assuming with pretty much all cable companies, the On-Demand feature requires a monthly fee added onto your bill. And it should give you access to everything available On-Demand with the exception of the premium channels that you don't subscribe to and any PPV programs.

Anime Network is connected with ADV Films, but is really run more like a separate company, IMO. They've been acquiring the broadcast rights to some shows from the Geneon catalogue recently.
The thing with Anime Network, though, is that it depends on your digital cable provider. Each system--even if they belong to the same company--is run independently and has a different set up. In some systems, Anime Network is free as part of an On Demand package of other digital tier programming. Others have a Video On Demand (pay for each viewing) set up, or a Subscription Video On Demand (pay a flat fee--about 7 bucks in most areas--for unlimited viewings) set up.
But naturally, the level of service varies depending on your local cable provider. In some areas, you may miss an episode or two because the the cable folks in your area dropped the ball on their end.
I've had Anime Network on Charter SVOD for nearly a year now, and it's been really great. It's definitely made up for the "unwanted stepchild" treatment of anime on Cartoon Network recently. I generally receive anywhere between 15-20 episodes of various shows each week. Heck, even now, I've got about a dozen episodes from last week I need to catch up on...

I was just checking the [as] schedule for March 7 and they have a blank TBD at 2am after Code Geass. Hopefully they're bringing back Moribito.
My cable provider, Comcast, has 2 Anime Network on demand channels. One shows free episodes and the other is pay per view.
They also have Anime Selects on demand. Which is also free. Anime Selects has started showing a lot of Funimation on demand shows like Beck, Aquarion, Black Cat, Burst Angel, Tsubasa, School Rumble and Suzuka.

Many people on other anime sites believe that's an error or just something that wasn't updated (definitely wouldn't be the first time either happened).
