I'm sorry if there has already been a topic made for this anime, i searched for one and I didn't see it.
Has this anime shocked any other viewers of this series about how its turning out? I've never read the manga but I am really enjoying the anime and its really funny so far. Her doing all of this for revenge though is a little whacky lol. |

Im rather suprised this series is getting suck limited attention! Im very much enjoying this show. Very funny, interesting story plot, and some great characters! Its close to the top of my watch list this season witk Kannagi and Guilty!

I was not shocked by this anime as I already knew how it turns out. Though it is not masterpiece, I still enjoy it a lot. There are generic situations for shojo. Even so, they are played out quite well and there is a lot of humour (I tend to forgive clichéd situations in shows that doesn’t try to be very serious), so I don't mind. Animation is my biggest problem. I wish Skip Beat had got a better studio and a higher budget. I hope it will sell good and a better studio will pick it up like it has been with Spice and Wolf. There is more than enough material for a second season.
I'm also surprised. Skip Beat is without doubt one of the best shojo I have read and it has one of the bast heroine. I'm ever more surprised because it's the bast shojo this season VKG is nothing short of guilty pleasure and unfortunately Hakushaku to Yōsei is padded out with clichés, which are not played out as well as in Skip Beat. I have seen many people praise Fruits Basket because it's not only about romance. Skip Beat is not only about romance as well. There is a lot of emphasis on Kyoko's struggle to become an actress and it's as important as her relationship with Ren. |

I liked Fruits Basket, but find it hard to call it a romance. Its more about a deep friendship then any romance. Maybe the novel/monga got more into it, but nobody even killed in the anime. I worked many years in the braudcast industry and spent a bit of time on-set, and find a lot of the Skip Beat situations humerious for 1 thing. She really does not care about being famous! I was the same way! I spent some time on-camera, but could care less. The reason she is what she does, is out of revenge. Its an interesting motivation, and I like the fact that Ren is trying to brake that motivation. I hope there is a 2nd season! How has its ratings been? |
