with the recent media blitz, it only makes sense to license Detroit Metal City. hopefully the anime is next.

The Viz crew did a pre-celebration this Halloween. I hope the movie gets picked up, too.

Yes!!!! The first Tail of the Moon story starring "the other Hanzo" as they so playfully seem to have put in the English title, as well as calling it a prequel, when Tail of the Moon with Usagi and Hanzo is actually a sequel. I love Tail of the Moon! I was really hoping that they would bring this over! So happy! I hope this means that Viz might bring over some of Rinko Ueda's other works.
The Ooku or Ohoku manga sounds really interesting, especially since I've been watching a wonderful and engaging live-action taiga (historical) drama called Atsu-hime that focuses a lot on the historical female-filled Ooku before the end of the Tokugawa shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji Restoration (although perhaps they will show the end of the shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji Restoration at the end of the series?). It's weird to think of an Ooku made up of men, although it sounds like the concept of the Ooku in the manga might be a bit different from the historical Ooku. Black Bird intrigues me, too, although I would like to know if the use of the word "goblin" in the ANN encyclopedia description of the manga is supposed to be an English equivalent of "tengu," because if it is, then I would be even more interested in it....somehow, the title of the manga makes me think that might possibly be true. The other one that looks interesting is the Kimi ni Todoke manga....the female protagonist sounds like she might be rather different from the average female manga protagonist. |

Oooh... this made my day. The Tail of the Moon prequel, AND the Yurara sequel??
I'm looking forward to summer! |

Yaaaaaay~!!
I am so so sooooo excited about Kimi ni Todoke. With Lovely Complex and High School Debut from the same Japanese magazine, and with a similarly great sense of humour to those two titles, I hoped this one would be next. I'm thrilled to find out I was right! The other ShojoBeat-intended-series should be good too, but this one has most of my anticipation. I'll be looking forward to summer as well! And to Tortoiseshell Tabby Girl: having seen some of the first volume, I do believe Black Bird's goblin is a tengu, as you hoped :D |

I'm excited for Children of the Sea (I'm sure several people here are too)! I also might check out DMC. The trailer for the movie certainly looks bizarre and funny.
It's also worth noting that Viz has posted a release date for the first volume of Dogs: Bullets & Carnage sometime in August. Although it was a given that they would eventually release it, they never specifically said so when they announced Dogs one-shot. I love that a lot of the series I've been really interested in are finally getting licensed. This is why I rarely ever turn to scanlations anymore, even with titles I'm super interested in. For many series, it's really just a matter of time. |

WOO! I am excited for Children of the Sea. That is such a beautifully drawn manga with such an interesting premise and story. Why can't June come fast enough?

I have a feeling my friend is spazzing like a crazy fanboy somewhere about the DMC manga being brought over here. lol I know he enjoyed the anime.
Well, I've been eager to read some of those titles, especially Children of the Sea and Ooku. Thank you, Viz. <3 |

I know for the most part Black Bird sounds rather cliche, but at the same time I'm finding myself intrigued by it. Always, always happy to hear new announcements from Viz (or any reliable company for that matter).

Tsuki no Toiki, Natsu no Yume was published within the same volume of Tsuki no Toiki, Ai no Kizu; the latter was also the main title on the cover and spine. You sure the Viz edition refers to the former one as the main title? |

I've been hoping for Black Bird and Kimi ni Todoke for a while now so this is great! Still need to read Tail of the Moon though...
