I should be sorry to see Isako shut out of the contest this early, but I suppose that is the luck of the draw. If anyone is still uncertain as to their vote, however, allow me to put in a final endorsement of her over Suitengu.

Sure, vote for Isako. That is, if you like watching bank after bank crash and burn. It's her fault after all.

There's about 20 minutes until midnight. Convince at least one person to change their vote and Yuko could still have a shot at winning.

Wait, I though Yuko was winning. The name split confused me, then I looked at my quote of you after you changed it and saw Amasawa and not Suitengu.

I have to back abunai here: Isako is such a unique sort of brilliant. Suitengu may be "mastermind" material, but he's not any smarter, certainly, than Isako, and the video clips, pics, and info I've read about her just rocks my socks.
She is the ONLY character out of this bracket and one of very few in the entire tourney that hooked me solely based on a Wikipedia description. Heck, just the fact that I wanted to look up clips of her afterwards is something. She is, to put it simply, the ultimate cool-headed multi-tasker. Please, somebody give her the thumbs-up so we can possibly see her in action in later rounds! |

Round 1 Group A voting is now closed.
Official results can be found here. Few surprises and I have a lot to do, so no commentary this time. The next round will be up soon. Last edited by Key on Mon Oct 06, 2008 11:32 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Hm, can't post official minigame results then, and I apparently missed a vote change or two in match-up A4 and I don't really feel like scanning through to double check right now, but I'm certain enough of the rest of the results to state that dtm42 and marie-antoinette are currently tied for first (regardless of how A4 turns out), with rainbowcourage one point behind. After that, however, results depend on whether Isako or Suitengou won.

Last I checked voting, Suitengu had the lead by a single vote making it the tightest match of this first bunch of matches. |

I'm actually really, really surprised some of you took me up on that bet.
I think...I might see if I can get my hand on some tea and take some pictures for you all. (I'd give you the real thing, but Santa hasn't given me my private jet yet. Maybe he'll think I was a good enough girl this year...) |

I've sent the minigame results to ccdx via pm to post on the results page. I'll also post a link to the results in Excel spreadsheet form some time shortly after noon (EST) tomorrow. If one of the participants believes they have found an error, please pm me and I'll check it. This will be my standard operating procedure for posting results, due to getting done class at 9:15pm Monday, and having one start at 9am Tuesday, and having a 40 minute drive each way.

Well, I'm glad L and Near are moving on, although I dread the time they will have to go against each other, should they be fortunate enough to do so.

While I would be giddy to see such a match, Near has some tight competition against the Major in the next round. In such a match, I'm betting against Near when the time comes. |

Guide: Group B Guide
Group B-1 The Count of Monte Cristo, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo vs. Matsuhiro Maniwa, Paranoia Agent My vote goes to The Count because that's who I chose for the mini-game pick and I want to stay with what I chose for the first rounds. Group B-2 Dr. Kenzou Tenma, Monster vs. Edward Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist VOTE CHANGE! Okay I'm switching to Ed. Even though I sort of promised to myself that I'd stick to my mini-game votes, at least at the start, the arguements for Ed have conviced me. Group B-3 Kyohya Ohtori, Ouran High School Host Club vs. Count Kinkel, MoonPhase Going with my fangirl side even though I haven't seen the anime yet...Kyoya Ohtori Group B-4 Dornkirk, The Vision of Escaflowne vs. Xellos, Slayers My vote goes to Dornkirk because not only did I nominate him but he is quite intelligent. Group B-5 Abriel Nei Lamsar Larth Balkei Dusanyu, Banner of the Stars vs. Naraku, Inuyasha My vote goes to Dusanyu for his tatical expertise and for the way that he teased his chief of staff about her love life. Group B-6 Akio Ohtori, Revolutionary Girl Utena vs. Ritsuko Akagi, Neon Genesis Evangelion My vote goes to Akio Ohtori because I hate the evil, twisted SOB. Oh, and because he's smart as hell. Group B-7 Douglas Rosenberg, El Cazador De La Bruja vs. Eriol Hiiragizawa, CardCaptor Sakura Eriol Hiiragizawa gets my vote for this group...mainly because I know him. Group B-8 Satsuki Yatoji, X TV vs. Friday Monday, Madlax Satsuki Yatoji wins here because of the way she worked the Systems with her beloved Beast. Group B-9 Ni Jenyi, Saiyuki vs. Lain Iwakura, Serial Experiments Lain Ni Jenyi Please see Group B-6 Group B-10 Drosselmeyer, Princess Tutu vs. Aion, Chrono Crusade Aion wins here because like Akio Ohtori and Ni Jenyi, he's one evil SOB and intelligent as hell. Group B-11 Werner Locksmith, Planetes vs. Horo the Wise, Spice and Wolf I don't know either of these two but I chose Horo in the mini-game because she's also called "the wise" which works for this tournament. Group B-12 Dr. Franken Stein, Soul Eater vs. Bear, .hack//SIGN Bear because I've seen the series and that's who I picked in the mini-game. Group B-13 Yoshito Kikuchi, Great Teacher Onizuka vs. Orochimaru, Naruto Yoshito Kikuchi gets my vote mainly because it's a vote against a Naruto character. Group B-14 Hiruma Yoichi, Eyeshield 21 vs. Jim Hawking, Outlaw Star Jim Hawkins because he's such a great kid and the more mature of the two main male characters. Group B-15 Maiza Avaro, Baccano! vs. Dante, Fullmetal Alchemist Dante because this is the evil mastermind group...and she certainly qualifies. Group B-16 Justy Ueki Tylor, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Aizen Sousuke, Bleach (Note: Aizen is normally depicted with glasses, but he is not wearing them in this pic.) Aizen because, again, he's an evil mastermind. Even though I can't forgive him for what he did to Momo-chan. Last edited by LydiaDianne on Thu Oct 09, 2008 11:59 pm; edited 1 time in total |
