While this thread might be locked for a lackluster opening post I must say that I love vampire knight. It's a very good series in my opinion and while it doesn't really break much ground it does manage to take the shojo vampire story in a new direction.

I really love Vampire Knight, too. That being said, I appear to be one of a small handful of people on this forum who do. So I don't know how far this thread will go.

Are you kidding me? Everytime I even suggest that I might not like VK, ten billion people jump out of the forum shadows and try to kick my ass.

seriously I never noticed. Wow um I guess it's ok if you don't like it. The same thing has happened to me for example I don't really like Ramma 1/2 and god forbid I ever say it out loud. I guess maybe vampire knight is one of those series that people are a little embarrassed to have read/watched. Or else the zero and kaname fan girls would have an uprising.

Trust me, there are plenty of people around here who would defend Vampire Knight with their life if they had to.
But then there are also people who just don't "get it," and I admit I'm one of them.
I guess it's just a rather polarizing series.

There's a decent amount of Vampire Knight discussion in the Shojo Beat thread, since the series is being serialized there.
And yes, there are definitely a fair number of fans out there. I think most of them might be in shock that this thread hasn't been locked, since I was expecting that to happen really fast, given the opener.

Well I suppose it's not like it's one of those series that already has 5 threads on the first place or anything. Like if this was a naruto or evangelion thread it would probably be locked.

Yeah. That's why I didn't post anything yet, but since it hasn't been, I'll just copy what I wrote on the what are you reading thread.
Just got through Vampire Knight vols. 1-4.
Cons: A few incidents of truly groan-worthy innuendo, not for anyone who hates cliches, and we really, really don't need to keep being reminded that dum-dum-dum: the Night Class students are Vampires!!!
Pros: Some of the relationships between a few of the characters look like they could go somewhere interesting, the concept of the night class reaching out to the human students is dripping with potential if the manga-ka really runs with it, and the hints in volume 4 that the series could possibly crescendo into an all-out war between the old guard vampires and the Night Class members who want to get along with humans means that we might be looking at more than a traditional love triange.
Verdict: No deep masterpiece at this stage, but a fun, guilty pleasure so far. Unless it really deteriorates, I think I'll be sticking with this one.

You're right about the spoiler, Kelly. But it won't happen until later on in the series. Good instincts, though! And it's more than a run-of-mill triangle; just wait till you find out Yuuki's secret!

I really like kaname but I think zero and yuuki are better together But for now she's with kaname but we all know that can change in a heartbeat. I do think that yuuki is one of the less annoying shojo main characters and more like the ones that we are supposed to like.

i just think that the majority of people here are more into shonen than shoujo...
but seriously its like at its climax right now and theres soo much dragged out suspense
but then again all the little pieces are coming into place so its getting interesting

I like vampire knight.
I thing the characters are nice drawn. And the boy's are really cute.
But Yuuki is a sweet character to.
But you have to wait long for a next chapter to appear.
