Quote: | The series' main characters will be based on Kyoko Kano and Mika Kano, two Japanese celebrities who are models, media personalities, and industry guests at this year's Otakon. |
You forgot to add MILFs.

The Kano sisters are a lot like Kim Kardashian; famous for [expletive] no reason that anyone can possibly work out. They aren't good looking, they aren't intelligent or remotely interesting, and yet they continue to remain in the media spotlight despite nobody giving a god damn.
What in fudge's name suggested that they needed to be invited to Otakon, much less have an anime based on them?
Utterly baffled.

Ug. I'm always pretty excited to hear about I.G's new projects but I have to wonder about this one. It's tough to say to what extent it will be based on them. It could range anywhere from being actually about them to simply having characters that look and act somewhat similar to them. I hope it's closer to the latter. Celebrity tie ins are lame. Especially ones based on people who are famous for no good reason.

I've been saying that since they announced it. An anime series based on them? No one would like it. Not even in the ironic hipster sense.

You can't judge a book by its cover
I have faith in I.G since their latest record has been nothing but interesting shows. I'll wait til a couple of eps air then decide whether it was a good decision or not. You can make the most nontrivial things interesting given the right resources and talent.

I was wondering what Otakon was thinking since I heard they'd be guests. Now I'm just wondering what Production I.G. is thinking...

FWIW, Otakon didn't invite the sisters. They are guests of Pony Canyon.
