I actually liked the other stories of Gin Tama 7 more than the SJ fight, mostly because I've seen similar ideas in American sitcoms. [Well, to be more precise, "The Simpsons already did it."] Gun Blaze West 2's baddies also admittedly underwhelmed me, but I'm hoping Watsuki will rebound in volume 3. And yeah, I miss Marcus, too, but he wouldn't really be motivated to do much, if he survived.

#24 being Saotome Hakase, probably not. However, #25 is Chisame Hasegawa, and she's always interesting.

Oh. My. Gosh. My Vampire Knight review got in. Amazing. =D That really made my day right there.
And Gintama seems to be cooler the more I see it. D: Crap - I need to buy that manga so badly...

I should reread TSK; it's tremendous fun, but this time I should get most of the jokes. [/quote]

Same...I got the first two Gintama manga last Christmas and while I liked it, I just never picked up anymore. But I keep seeing so much praise for it and these volumes keep looking really funny and interesting...I need to go buy some more.
Also need to get the new Mushi-shi and Time Stranger Kyoko.

EdoRocksMySocks, that was a really good review. I'm glad that the one that was picked wasn't a rabid, Vampire Knight is the best manga eva! type of thing, because quite frankly it isn't. But it definitely is a fun series and one that I've enjoyed more than most of the other stuff I've seen (and I can't wait for more of the anime, why does there have to be a three month gap :'()
Time Stranger sounds a bit better after this review, but still nothing I would plan to buy. Which means there isn't really anything in this column too exciting (except Vampire Knight), but all and all that's probably a good thing because my wallet can't take much more abuse!

Thanks. When I first read that he was attacked by rabid VK fans for barely insulting it, I had to stand up for those who aren't as....rabid and like it even though we know it's not the greatest thing ever.
(And I dunno about the three month gap in the anime...I still have to watch 9-13 yet so I might wait a little longer to watch it. )

Watch them soon, they are so good. I think I like the anime more than the manga, because there are times when I find it hard to follow what's going on when the action isn't actually moving. Also, the supporting cast is much easier to tell apart in full colour.
But I still love the manga. And especially it's art, I'm so glad that Viz is bringing more of the mangaka's work over with Wanted (I really should check out Merupuri sometime).

For Negima the cast has been mostly been pared down for much more than cameos. Basically the main "in on the secret" people are the only girls that do much, Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna, Nodoka, Yue, Ku, Chisame, Evangeline, Kaede and Haruna. The rest lately have only done cameos (generally saying "party!") and the occasional single character focus chapter. That cast is still pretty large, but relatively doable. I do wish Kazumi, had made the cut, she seemed main party for awhile but drifted off to the periphery cast in this storyline.

Despite the fact I've been a fan of Negima since Del Ray licensed the series, I completly agree with your review Mr. Santos.
My only chief complaint with the series is the fanservice. There is NOTHING cute about fanservice every chapter/arc. I really wish the series would focus more on the shonen aspect rather than the characters for a while.
However, I was quite pleased with the end of volume 18, hopefully Negi won't bring too many people. Remembering 34 students alone isn't a easy feat.
Well thanks for your review Mr. Santos.

I just finished Odd Thomas and now I'm on Forever Odd. Might as well pick up the comic.

Thank you, Amanda O.! Nice to see a positive review for Vampire Knight for a change. Though I kinda wish you could have gone beyond Vol. 1 so you could have gone into more detail about the more interesting plot lines. I think the problem is that a lot people have the idea that it's a silly, fluffy shojo about vampires and the human girls that love them. And to be honest, I almost passed on it because that was my initial impression of it. What they don't realize is that is gets darker and more interesting as it goes along.

Good Vampire Knight review, it was very honest and well written.
Personally, I prefer the manga. The first half of the anime was good but the ending really dragged. Actually, partway through the final episode, I began to fight the urge to do something else, anything else because I was so bored. Hopefully, the second season will be better.

I would've done so much more if I had the space. x_x; I was fighting the 400 word limit. I have one (review) I typed up that's almost two whole pages in Microsoft Word. I figured it was too long and went with the more neat and tidy package. And I agree with you. The problem is that a lot of people see is as a shoujo series with just fluff and hot vampires but it's much more than that.

I own both Negmia! Vol. 18 and Mushishi Vol. 4. To tell you the truth, I liked Negima volume more than the Mushishi volume for once. The reason is that Mushishi had some a lot sad stories and endings in it that I really didn't like this time around. Negima! Vol. 18 was good because it went back to the humor and charms that I saw back in the beginning of the series. Also, I liked that volume more because the chapter arc finally ended! Thank God. I liked it and all, but I'm glad we are finally moving onto something else now. One last thing, these guys reviewing the series always complain about how cramped everything is the series, I like it better that way. It actually takes me longer to read the volume, which I like. When I buy something, I want it to last for a while.
