This would work (to boost sales) if Microsoft were offering titles that iPod and other competition don't already have.

Awesome! The Zune definately needs more love since, IMHO, it's the superior product. I've never checked out Witchblade, so now might be my chance.

Microsoft seem to be behind on everything these days.
Except Windows, and they're just monopolising the OS market. Boo.

Unfortunately microsoft has proven that it can not be trusted with DRM content purchases.
microsoft shutting down msn music DRM servers
"MSN Music customers will risk losing their music libraries if they try to transfer songs to unauthorized computers or swap operating systems after Aug. 31."

I will spare everyone the microsoft/DRM rant.

Yay for Zunes! Kinda curious about how they encoded their anime videos. Thinking about getting at least one just to see what kind of specs it has. So I know what to encode my DVD videos into. Heh, almost thought about getting all of Solty Rei, but I think I can get the box set cheaper...

I've already bought a few titles. I've got 2 zunes I'm adding them too. Love it so far.

Sometimes i don't get video ipod, video zune (aside the DRM anti-ms bent), or PSP video, i have a 1680x1050 res laptop widescreen i watch my DVDs on, why would i go and spend money to watch what i can get on perfectly good DVDs (for the same or better pricing) in teeny tiny squintovision? (line borrowed from else where.)

Because it's more convenient to carry an iPod, Vuze, PSP then it is to carry that laptop.

Exactly, it's easier to whip out something like that and watch a tv show or movie to pass the time while I'm waiting on my tires to get changed (for example) then it is hauling out my laptop and doing it on there.
