I quite enjoyed this first season so I’m definitely exited for S2!

I was kind of afraid last week because this week's last episode would not have made a good stopping point so the confirmation at the end of the last episode is reassuring, see you next time fellow otaku Okumura .

Felt like it dragged on a little too much for my liking, I'll still check out the 2nd season but I'm not in a rush to do so.

Glad for this for the fans of this show. Although if you consider how much this show toned down the source material - and keep in mind the source material wasn't even explicit to begin with - it looks like ecchi shonen anime is dead. For an example, Kiddy Grade was actually pretty mild for its day but there's no way something like that would be made now. The same with Haganai, which came along a bit later and was less explicit than the shows that it was parodying. Prison School? Shimoneta? Not a chance. Not even Seitokai Yakuindomo, which was just jokes, or The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, which was just a few scenes in the early episodes to get viewers hooked. Would even Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Asterisk War or Infinite Stratos get made today? Unlikely.
They'll do ecchi seinen anime, even if it features high school and middle school main characters like My Dress-Up Darling - to a point because the more explicit seinen like Freezing is never going to be done again either - but looks like shonen is going to have to be "safe for international streaming" going forward. To show how times have changed: I remember some on ANN calling Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and Don't Mess With Me Miss Nagatoro ecchi. Those folks have never seen Heaven's Lost Property, and that was a PG-13 show!

It was never going to be a masterpiece, but this improved quite a lot over the course of its run. Will probably watch season 2.

Great news! Season 1 is fantastic and I'm so glad we're going to get more of Okumura and the girls and their cosplay romcom antics!

t. local individual who apparently has no idea that Gushing Over Magical Girls, a show more provocative than all of the above listed, is getting a second season

Kinda expected this,
And while I liked the anime to the point I would like Se2, I can't be fully happy knowing how much was cut from the source to the point it changed the series "personality."
The anime ver is basically its own family-friendly thing which killed the source's true intentions which were ecchi and cosplay-related story that go hand by hand,
Anime fans don't even know the sensei and elf cosplay true relation since the anime cut it down longside most of the extras
So anyway, a sad day for animes imo but I won't say I didn't want a second season due to that, just that I can never truly like that anime compared to what I would've if it didn't got the "safe for streaming" approach.

It was made explicit in the finale. "Oh, she's gay, explains a lot" was something I thought in the last episode. I glad the series stayed clear of it as it would have been a distraction... though it's obvious fuel for next season.
I'm amused by the fact this show really got going by the time daily reviews stopped. And while I welcome more of the series, I feel stopping the relationships right now also works. Okamura isn't quite at the starting line yet but he has been made aware that there are stakes involved and his reasoning and reasons for being hesitant are kind of refreshing.
